From the Principal's DeskAs B.S. Negi MPPS completes 25 years in the field of Education and Women Empowerment, I feel honored and privileged to write this message for the special Silver Jubilee edition of VIVIDHA.

Jubilee is a time to rejoice and also a time to respect and remember all, specially the Founder and patrons. We salute and honored them with the esteem that is rightly due to them! The patrons of this institute must have their hearts filled with pride and satisfaction after watching the hard work and keeping alive the mission set by them 25 years ago.

From last 25 years, we are accomplishing the task of nurturing the young girls with value of hard work and to teach them to follow their own dreams and not to forget their values and ethics.

I feel that the real greatness of any institute can not be judged only by academic performance but also by our contribution to the society by providing them the

responsible hardworking and creative citizens. So our aim is that after the completion of their respective courses the girls will leave this institute having confidence, self reliant, full of enthusiasm, motivation, high self-esteem and ready to face any challenge of life.I feel, we have accomplished this task in an effective manner.

I conclude, on behalf of Sansthan, with paying my heartiest gratitude to Mrs. Shobhna Wahi who planted a tiny seed 25 years ago which has grown into a huge tree sheltering thousand of girls who have benefited and reached at greater heights in their professional as well as personal lives. She has nurtured this institute and given her unselfish love and guidance like a mother. It would not be an exaggeration to call and crown her as "Mother Shobhna". She is a constant guiding force in our journey like a "Northern Star" guiding us towards our Goal & Mission.

(Hemashwari Sharma)

Dear Friends,

The long felt need of the young girls of the Doon Valley to be trained in the job oriented courses in many fields was finally met when the tender seedling planted

th thby ONGC Mahila Samiti on 27 June 1987 turned 25 years old on June 27 2012. Mahila Samiti Polytechnic for women has carved & shaped the lives of our young ladies beautifully and opened new avenues to seek gainful employment so that they become strong, confident and are economically independent and establish a name a place, and respect in the society, which they deserve.

The Honors for this achievement is due to the team work, commitment & hard work of the stalwarts of this institute - the teachers, Staff and the management who have worked as a team over the years. A special word of thanks to the outstanding management of ONGC which has supported this institute with their vision, funds and infrastructure. I congratulate all, for the accomplishments achieved during the past 25 years as we celebrate the silver jubilee of this institute .

I am proud of you all & I am sure you will carry on the good work under the leadership of Mrs. Hemashwari Sharma making changes for a better & brighter future of our talented students.

My blessings & best wishes are always with you.

The age of globalization has led to a revolution in all aspects of life and has opened doors for specialization in all walks of life both for men & women. Still, in many parts of India, women education is considered frivolous, and they miss the opportunities to develop their minds and skills.

Dehradun has been known as a hub for one of the best school level education since decades. It was the vision of Mrs. Shobhna Wahi, wife of our former CMD Col. S.P. Wahi, that B.S. Negi MPPS was established in 1987 with various Diploma courses for imparting vocational education to enable Upliftment of the socio-economic condition of women of this region. Increasing popularity of these vocational courses has helped to prepare women learn skill of different trades which were earlier not possible due to barrier of non availability of appropriate institute.

Although 25years is too short a time to dispel the darkness of ignorance and spread the light of knowledge, yet MPPS has traversed a long journey during which it has encouraged women to think out of box and motivated more women and girls to take up these courses. However, role of Sansthan does not end here as it has to introduce measures to encourage women to finish their education and apply their acquired skills as well.

I take this opportunity to convey my best wishes to Sansthan for completing glorious 25 years and wish all the success to annual event "Ahbivyakti 2013" and Silver Jubilee edition of college magazine "Vividha"

I am delighted to note that the B.S. Negi Mahila Pravidhik Prashikshan Sansthan (MPPS) is commemorating its Silver Jubilee this year. It is indeed heartening to acknowledge and witness the growth of this institution during the last quarter of a century, whose foundation was laid by the pioneering hands of Mrs. Shobhna Wahi, wife of Col. S.P. Wahi, our ex-chairman.

This initiative is one of the brightest success stories of ONGC's trailblazing CSR efforts, which has benefitted a vast multitude of young women already. The technical and entrepreneurial skills imparted in MPPS are of the highest order and has empowered thousands of young girls, many with modest means, to become independent, economically and socially, with dignity.

I would like to congratulate the managements, present and past, of this unique institution and offer my best wishes for a still brighter future in the area of vocational training and enablement of our young women.

It gives me immense pleasure to congratulate each member of the Sansthan in this Silver Jubilee year of its establishment. The motto of 'Economic Independence and Welfare for Women' has been aptly promoted and executed through the enduring educational initiatives by the forebearers of the Sansthan.

I would like to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of the employees towards their students and the Sansthan, to channelize their potential in pursuit of excellence. I am sure that every student of this Institute will be a beacon radiating kindness and groom out as a woman competent to bear the responsibility in all works of life.

I strongly believe that the Sansthan will create a benchmark in its own right. Since the time of its inception, the previous and present principal, and the member of the management have striven to nurture th Sansthan from its infancy into its youth.

I hope that we shall continue to work towards this noble cause and contribute to the growth and prosperity of our country.

then it has been in great demand. Initially it was a Two Years

Diploma Program and was affiliated to South Delhi Polytechnic

New Delhi. Later, it was recognised & started for Three Years

by UP Board of Technical Education & then it was recognised

by UBTE. This course helps the students to develop in them

the creativity & ability to use different medium. It not only

Ms Meena Gera(Lab Assistant)

provides the knowledge for garment making but also provides

comprehensive insight into the basic knowledge about garment, fibers,

yarns & accessories etc.

Every year maximum students are placed in different Export houses,

Buying houses, Production houses etc. as Fashion Coordinators,

'Fashion', a general term for a currently popular style or practice

especially in clothing, footwear or accessories, fashion refer's to

anything that is current trend. Fashion is a term usually used as a

synonym for glamour beauty & style it also applies prevailing mode of

expression but quite often applies to personal mode of expression.

Fashion is something we deal with everyday. Even people who say, they

don't care what they wear, they choose clothes every morning that say a

lot about them & how they feel.

An important field of Fashion is Fashion Journalism. Editorial critiques

Guidelines & commentary can be found in magazines, newspapers, on

television, fashion website, social networks & in fashion blogs. Fashion

is a big business. More & more people are involved in buying, selling &

production of apparels.

Street is the real barometer of style. A teenager can throw something

Love Freedom And AlonenessWhen somebody falls in love for the first time even for the very first time, you can see her face glow. You can see her walk has a new freshness, a dance in it. But it does not last long. Within a week or two on may be after a month as so, Boredom settles. You see that the dust has started gathering again. The light is gone again she is dragging not dancing. Flowers are still flowering, but he does not see the beauty. Stars go on provoking her but she does not look at the sky. There are million of people who have never looked upwards, their eyes are glued on the earth as if they are afraid that some star will fall on them. There are few people who would like to sleep under the sky with all the stars withhold the fear of vastness, loneliness and darkness. No one is courageous enough to be alone. You need someone. Always you need someone? You are afraid of your own loneliness. You become bored with yourself and really, when you are lonely, nothing seems meaningful with someone. You cannot live for yourself so you start living for someone else. Two person who are afraid of their own loneliness come together and they start a play- a play of love. But deep down they are searching for attachment, commitment, bondage and when this real desire is fulfilled love disappears. Then you feel bondage slavery and the struggle to become free starts.Love has to be of the quality that gives freedom not new chains for you, a love that gives you wings and supports you to fly as high as possible. The moment you feel you are not longer dependent on anyone, emotionally a deep coolness a deep silence settles inside. It does not mean you stop loving.Just a little more intelligence is needed and you can come out of the gloom, the misery the hell in which the whole humanity is living. The secret of coming out of this hell is to remember yourself and this remembrance will become possible if you understand the idea that you are alone and to be alone is so beautiful; untrespassed, nobody trampling on you, you are left to be yourself and you leave others to be themselves.

India has a rich heritage of textiles. The country's traditional-handloom sector co-exists with the highly mechanized mill sector and the decentralized power loom sector. Textiles stand next to agriculture as an income generation activity for most of the rural population with over ten million weavers in the country. India also has a very strong mechanized textile industry, which plays a major role in the economy. B.S. Negi M.P.P.S.
