PSQ Convention 2019 Hosted by Mt Gravatt Photographic Society
4th – 6th May 2019, Club Manly on Moreton Bay
I think it’s safe to say everyone who attended the 2019 PSQ Convention “Take, Make, Illuminate” at Club Manly on Moreton Bay, had a fantastic weekend! If anyone has any photos they are happy to share on the PSQ website, please email Fran at [email protected]

R.I.P Dale Sharpe
Dale Sharpe
We were very fortunate to hear Dale speak at the convention, as sadly he lost his life in a freak accident in the US not long after.
Dale was an extremely talented travel and landscape photographer and shared some of his stories, some emotional, some funny… and a collection of his amazing images.
“It’s with the deepest regret that we inform our supporters & friends that Dale Sharpe passed away in
Kansas in the United States on the 20 June, 2019
Dale was driving on Highway 2 north east of Harper where he struck a deer. Dale’s vehicle was disabled
on the road and he sought safety calling for assistance.
The vehicle started to billow smoke from the engine bay and Dale sought refuge on the side of the road.
A passing motorist avoided colliding with the stranded vehicle at the last moment by leaving the road.
Dale ran for cover into a ditch, however it’s understood the same oncoming vehicle sought refuge in the
same direction simultaneously and he was subsequently struck.
He was treated by health care professionals on scene and in hospital, however passed away at 2.14am.
Dale was loved by many and will be deeply missed.” Copied from DK Photography Facebook page.

the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
He is an active photographer and has conducted more than 500 workshops to amateur and professional organizations during the last decade. In 2015 he was featured in an article on his work as a photographer and educator in the national
industry magazine, “Photo Review”.
Jennifer astounded us with her unique art of weaving photographs and producing a rather awe-inspiring end result! But weaving was just one of a few mediums, as her work often incorporates recycled materials etc. She points out that
beauty exists in the imperfect.

Adam Williams, published landscape photographer, enthralled and inspired everyone speaking about communicating

Gympie Lightroom Workshop with Darran Leal Story and photos contributed by: Dorothea Heath
A day spent with Darren Leal a world renowned photographer was an educational affair.
Lovers of photography from the Sunshine Coast and the local area along with members of the Gympie Camera club enjoyed an all day Adobe Lightroom workshop held in the clubhouse at 39 Saleyard road, Araluen.
Whether you were new to Adobe Lightroom or an accomplished user of the software there was a lot to be learnt. Darran Leal along with his son Frazer spent the day sharing with those that attended the workshop, their knowledge and the advantages of using Lightroom for the processing of images along with many processing tips and tricks that makes life simple and to get things done quickly and efficiently, learning the simple basics of storing our precious images and being able to find them quickly and easily and much more.
By attending this workshop everyone enjoyed a clear and in depth understanding of this amazing program. By gaining an understanding and hands on knowledge which enables a new confidence and ability in processing images into ones very own works of art.
Thank you to Darren Leal and son Frazer for making this possible for all who attended this rare opportunity to a day of learning and understanding the Adobe Lightroom Program.
