The Project Statement1. BackgroundWith a growing population the worlds available drinking water is diminishing at a constant rate. Water scarcity could wreak havoc among even the most political secure countries. Its important that this commonly overlooked issue is brought to mainstream attention to help possibly solve this crisis. I decided to pick this issue because its a very important one as Ive traveled the world and seen this issue first hand. The article was published by phys.org which is an organization that informs its readers in topics on multiple scientific fields such as astronomy, the environment and earth sciences. The articles intention is to highlight the efforts of the InterAction council and its efforts to make the crisis of water scarcity a top priority in the United Nations.

2. Target AudiencesMy intended audience is pretty much everyone. Being published on a scientific website means that they would have to be people who are generally interested in the sciences and global issues.My age range would be 18-70 and include those truly interested in scientific publications. 3. ObjectivesMy intended reaction from my target audience is purely bringing attention to the subject and making it relevant. A secondary intention would be to possible help change the wasteful behavior that is associated with water. Here in the US we take drinkable water for granted but in other countries people really have to struggle. My objective is to make sure people know whats going on because we all share the planet and have responsibilities in taking care of it.

4. ObstaclesMy obstacles with this issue could include those who just don't care or are single minded in thinking that other countries problems don't effect them here in the US. I believe the information is highly credible through being published by an organization made up of individuals that are dedicated to making this important issue a top priority for the United Nations. The issue addressed is a very hard topic to disagree on however there are always those who deny the issues all together.

5. Key BenefitThe greatest single benefit that I intend for my audience would be to stop being so wasteful with water. Possibly cut down on showers and the constant consumption of water bottles, I believe its the little things we can all do everyday to create a bigger impact with the combination of efforts. The overall key benefit is responsibility.

6. Support Statements/ Reasons WhyI believe the message portrayed out weighs all cons and obstacles because its such a huge and scary thing to think about. No matter who you are the thought of water scarcity and the havoc it may bring is a horrible one. I believe this issue is so important to all of us it would be hard to not care.7. ToneThe general feeling of this illustration would probably be considered a light one as it wouldn't be too emotional but at the same time use imagery that will help connect it to the article. If the image can tell the reader what their going to be reading I feel as if I accomplished my goal.

8. MediaThe intended media for this illustration is an online publication. It may also be printed so I made sure the composition doesn’t have too many colors so that it drives up the cost to print.
