I am a passionate nature lover and wildlife photographer. My love for wildlife began as a child when my father took us kids to the Kruger National Park. From there my enthusiasm grew from just viewing the animals to photographing them. In the last 5 years my photography transformed from a happy snapper to a more professional and sometimes artistic approach. As a photographer my focus has always been on mammals and birds in flight but recently, I am doing some landscape work. I spend many weeks and months in the African bush from Kenya to Cape Town, Namibia to South Africa and Botswana always looking for that unique moment that will get a viewer to look twice. The aim of my work is to highlight the beauty of nature and in so doing hopefully slow down the decline in most species. The more people we can touch with the beauty of nature the less the better the chance of survival of these beautiful creatures for our children to appreciate them in their natural world. Over and above this I frequently take people on private tailored safaris into Africa where we take the time to sharpen the photographer's skills both photographically and in teaching the ways of the animal life in order that we can achieve better photographs without disturbing the subject.Pretoriaclint@smartwaste.co.zawww.clintralphphotography.co.za
I love stolen moments...
Those images that freeze real life, raw, un-posed, un-directed… Images that years later will leave you with a little bite of your past. I am a child and family photographer.
I purchased my first camera so I could freeze these memories, my cell phone could not keep up with my toddler. Soon after I received my first requests to document for others. The joy that pulses through me when I manage to capture the essence of a moment is addictive. Through trial and error I'm learning how to document these glimpses into the everyday.

Derick Atkins
The proverbial photographic BUG bit amateur photographer Dawid Fourie during 2008 while browsing through some Macro Photos. A whole new world opened right in front of him.Having been a nature lover all his life, he decided to concentrate on wildlife photography. With the help of friends and through self-education.
Dawid soon lifted himself up from a person who would capture an animal just for the sake of taking a photo, to a person who would sit hours on end and then capture the perfect photo.Other genres were soon discovered, which fuelled him to produce creative photo art photography.

Debbie's love of all things “arty” is something she inherited from both her parents. Mom was a cake designer and won many medals for her skills in baking and cake decorating.Dad was a sign writer by trade. Debbie has a Graphic Design background and designed her first magazine at the tender age of eleven.
Although photography is only a hobby, it has become her passion.Debbie's main genre is flower photography but discovering her Photoshop skills has taken her creativity to a new level of photographic manipulation and altered reality. Her biggest inspiration in this regard has been her friend and mentor, Martin Dudley, who selflessly shares his talent in order for others to learn and grow.

Dricky Gouws
Part time photographer Dricky Gouws always admired the beauty of art. She tried out a few mediums like jewellery making and painting on wooden canvas. She is a versatile photographer with a passion for people and portrait photography. Between landscapes and portrait s her mind wonders, a story born in her imagination, takes shape. To create the story as it features in her mind, she started applying it to her photography, and there her love for altered reality photos started, giving free reins to her imagination.

I have spent some 45 years as a professional photographer. My photograph journey started at age ten with a Kodak 620Fold-out camera and has been a life long adventure.I am completely self taught and have worked with all formatsof film cameras from 35mm to medium and large format.Initially I shot Rock 'n Roll and photographed many famousSouth African bands including Rabbitt, Ballyhoo, The Rockets,Clout and singers like Margaret Singana and PJ Powers.I then got involved with commercial and advertisingphotography mostly in studio for local and international brands.Today I have changed tack once more. I like natural light,so shoot mostly outdoors and once again Rock 'n Roll, sport and major events and people are my main interests.Digital has changed the way I create my images butdefinitely don't take a shotgun approach.I can't resist picking up a camera and creating something of value.

Elaine Lamb
Amateur/hobby photographer, Elaine Lamb's interest in photography began in her teens when she discovered her mother's Brownie box camera and later her father's Retina IA. Before going to University, a friend introduced her to a dark room and film processing. Her first year at Architecture School included a semester in photography and graphics. Later, in her own make shift dark room, she explored pushing recording film to achieve grainy effects. Photography helped her out of a depression in 2012 when she became fascinated by the world of 'small things' as seen through the macro lens. Her interest is still in creating artistic effects, either in camera or in post processing.

Elize Labuschagne
Elsje Vermeulen
Over a span of 35 years, Elize successfully applied the visual arts in her business career, drawing on our cultural, historical and natural heritage: first as an interior designer and later a product designer. After her retirement in 2017, she allowed herself the luxury of indulging in her lifelong, but underdeveloped, passion of photography. As an amateur, she photographs what tickles her fancy, spending lots of time at local and exotic wildlife destinations – she has a love affair with Africa, the east and South America. “I live in Brooklyn, Pretoria, in an old house, surrounded by lots of old stuff.”
Elsje is the News Editor of Vaalweekblad and Ster newspapers in Vaal Triangle, Gauteng. She started her career in printed media as a junior sports jounalist in 1989 and was asked to take her own photos for articles. Right from the word go she was a keen photographer. Her career and passion for photography flourished which lead to several Community Newspaper Photography Awards throughout the years. In 2018 she received the award for Best Hard News Photo at the Caxton Excellence Awards and was also crowned as 2018 FCJ (Forum for Community Journalism) Photographer of the Year.
In July 2018 she joined VSS Creative Camera Club. "Breaking away from the strict rules of photo journalism
and having fun with altered reality multi imaging, creates a wonderful balance for me. I can let my imagination run free".

" I am just a trigger happy lady that got hooked the day I first saw a digital camera. My husband had to buy me one the same day and I never lost that feeling of awe for photography. I'd like to think that I have grown since then and love to do macro and close ups, especially plants, flowers and insects. I see a weed through a different eye that the average person (I think) and want to show that they are beautiful too. I have a really big fascination with Dandelions and look alike seeds. To me they are artworks themselves, and I want to reflect that in my work, for now. Who knows what I will do next? As long as I can keep on growing and snapping I'm happy!"

Evelyn Gibson FPSSA, APSSA(Vers), EPSSA(Mille), EFIAP, SPSA
Evelyn Gibson is a South African based photographer with over 20 years of experience. She has a passion for a wide range of photographic genres, and, having travelled widely both internationally and around Southern Africa, she has collected a range of images.Evelyn currently serves on the Board of PSSA as Director - Public Relations and is also a member of its National Honours Judging Panel.Being heavily involved in Club Photography, she regularly judges at different clubs around the country or assists through remote judging. She also instigated and started a new Club in her local area some years ago.Her approach to photography comes from a photographer once saying to her that the light is the river on which technique sinks or floats. Emotion, spirit, conveying mood, atmosphere and meaning needs to be there when the image is captured. One must feel they could walk into the image and feel part of it.

Fanie Schoeman
Francois Loubser
I grew up in White River, South Africa where I started a company and later developed a passion for photography. Photography is one of my favorite hobbies and got me to open my own studio. Wildlife photography is one of my favorite genres. I enjoy collaborating with other talented photographers who share my interests. This is the best place where you can learn more from other photographers. I am also a freelance photographer doing what ever comes to mind. When time allows I travel to certain parts of the country capturing images of landscapes. I also often travel to Kruger National Park for the best wildlife photography.
Francois Loubser took on photography in 2006 for the first time. Falling in love with creating images I photographed anything and everything. After a few years and with some encouragement from people like Hein Waschefort I started with experimenting with especially in camera manipulation.

I am not one that can sit in front of a computer and do complex manipulation. I have also moved away from “forensic “ photography to the more surreal.

Gaby Grohovaz
Fine art photographer who believes images are made not taken. Gaby Grohovaz enjoys experimenting with different subject matter, with a tendency towards portrait. Her passion lies in the conceptual and creative creation of fine art images and the time spent in post production is at least as important to her as capturing images in camera. Her work is often dark and moody, aiming to elicit a reaction from the viewer. She uses any camera available and several of her awarded pictures were captured with a mobile device, some fully edited on the phone.

Gonnie Myburgh
Photography, especially Nature Photography, became an important part of my very being when I used it as a healing process after a traumatic period in my life.
When we engage in photography, we are usually focusing on the beauty of a situation. That is why the creative process of this art form is so satisfying and uplifting.
The art of photography will always be a learning experience for me. As photographer, you not only try to improve your technical skills while recording images, but also learns much more about the details and beauty of nature when you are able to contemplate the enlarge results of your work on the screen of the computer.

Gideon Malherbe
Hi, I am Gideon Malherbe, a South African farmer who loves travelling in Southern Africa with its diverse landscapes, cultures and wildlife. Showing people the real Africa through the lens of my camera is a passion that was always in my veins and photography is the perfect way to do it. I specialize in bird, wildlife and landscape photography.
Geraldine Enslin
Gerbus Vermaak
Gerbus Vermaak's interest in photography evolved from the need to identify the birds he passionately seeks. His dream is to photograph all the birds found in Southern Africa, hopefully spending his retirement in this fulfilling way. With the assistance and guidance from knowledgeable photographer friends, photography has become his biggest passion regularly taking him to new and exciting places.
Photographing birds especially birds in flight is his first love but he will photograph any wildlife and even a grandchild will do.
Geraldine Enslin, a Fine art specialist who focuses predominantly on animals and children and marrying the two in what one could call a whimsical dream world. She wholeheartedly believes in capturing life's magical moments and translating them into captivating portraits. Geraldine knows what truly drives warmth, emotion, and a sense of fantasy—and it's not just her flavour of the week, she has been refining this style for over half a decade. It's how well you connect with the heart-beating people and animals you're trying to portray and communicate your understanding back to them.

Haig Fourie
Amateur photographer and a bit on the obsessive side of photography. Haig Fourie started photography in 2013 when he joined Vanderbijlpark Photographic club, before that he loved taking pictures on holidays but after joining the club it became a passion. As a photographer I try and be as versatile as possible and love photographing almost anything possible but love macro, monochrome and sport. Macro photography is probably at the top as the insect world just fascinates me in how small and beautiful detail they have that we can't see with our eyes.
Hanli Smit
Hanli Smit, an accomplished fine art photographer, has carved a professional niche for herself in the field of Jewellery Photography. With her Graphic and Fashion Design background, and her love of painting and drawing, Hanli has always interwoven creativity in all that she does, which is why Hanli herself refers to her photography as making - rather than taking a picture. Thus, Hanli is often found not just behind the camera, but actively involved in the actual design of the entire costume, make-up, props, accessories, etc. that goes into one of her photographic portraits or creations. She has an eye for detail, loves post-processing and is a perfectionist when producing a photograph. Hanli's only regret is that she did not embrace photography as her preferred medium sooner in life.

Heide-Marie Smallwood
Hennie Karsten
As a child Heide-Marie Smallwood was exposed to an artistic environment. She studied ceramics, sculpture and vitreous enamelling, and explored martial arts and music. As a photographer and artist she knows that inspiration never stops growing. Her passion focuses on compositing, combining several images to create a narrative, using visual effects instead of words to form and articulate ideas. Celebrating the human form, expressed through portrait and altered reality, she uses creative energies to communicate life’s great themes, with the greatest possible freedom of expression, proving that the vital spark of creativity, combined with passion, enables talent to flourish without restraint.
