DESCRIPTION
• Students can be assigned to create their software materials to supplement the need for relevant and effective materials.
There are available software materials such as creative writer (by Microsoft) on writing, KidWork Deluxe (by Davidson) on drawing and painting, and Mediaware (by Humanities software) on multimedia.
EXAMPLE
When providing instruction to students, often it is helpful to provide a simple recorded demonstration of a specific task or activity in addition to textual documentation.
Such educational tutorials, also often referred to as screen casts, can be created using a software capture program that records cursor movement, typing, or other on-screen activity as well as narration.
This hands-on workshop will introduce the free screen casting tool and explore several practical applications for implementing simple educational tutorials in the classroom.
Participants will create a short instructional screen cast and learn how to post it in Blackboard.
What is Screen casting?
Screen casting is becoming an increasingly common tool for online instruction. The workshop introduction will focus on the process of conceptualizing educational tutorials, asking important pedagogical questions, story boarding ideas, and deciding on the most appropriate method for distribution of content.
Learners will use Camtasia Studio, a Screen casting program offering features and options that enhance instruction by capturing lectures, recording and highlighting interaction with website tours or software applications, and using closed captioning to expand accessibility.
Participants will create a brief instructional screencast demonstrating various features.

ABILITIES OF CREATIVITY
1. ANALYZINGDistinguishing similarities and
differences/ seeing the project as a problem to be solved.
2. SYNTHESIZINGMaking spontaneous
connections among ideas, thus generating interesting or new ideas.3. PROMOTING
Selling of new ideas to allow the public to test the ideas themselves.
Purpose
Its purpose is to develop the creativity skill of the students by creative and constructive thinking.
To develop their skill of analyzing, synthesizing, and promoting.
Teaches the student to evaluate the completed work.
Gives whole hearted purposeful activity.
ADVANTAGES
Students can create their software materials to supplement the need for relevant and effective materials.
The creativity of the students will be enhance by providing an activity/ project that involves simple creation.
It develops the student’s skill in planning and implementing the assigned project through a creative way.
It also develops the student’s way of assembling, designing or building a project assigned by the teacher.
DISADVANTAGES
It would be hard for the passive learner to adopt this kind of learning task. However, it’s a challenge for him.
Computer illiterate child would have difficulties in performing the task.
ROLE OF THE TEACHER
The teacher gives the task. She is an engineer. She is a provider. She is a guide/ facilitator. She is a designer.
How to develop creativity?
1. Define the task. Clarify the goal of the completed
project to the student.
2. BrainstormThe students themselves will be
allowed to generate their own ideas on the project. Rather than shoot down ideas, the teacher encourages idea exchange.
3. Judge the ideas. The students themselves make
an appraisal for or against any idea. Only when students are completely off track should the teacher intervene.
4. Act.The students do their work with
the teacher as a facilitator.5. Adopt flexibility.
The students should be allowed to shift gears and not follow an action path rigidly.
