CODE OF ETHICS FOR THE TEACHING PROFESSION

text in order to obtain all the relevant facts.

Teaching ethics is based on the text of the

"Teacher's Oath' which suggested that teachers need

to carry out duties of the profession to a high level of

ethical and moral conduct from the various aspects:

Lebih mengutamakan kebajikan dan keselamatanpelajar daripada hal-hal lain.(Prioritize students' welfare and safety more than other

matters)

Bersikap adil terhadap setiap orang pelajar tanpa mengira faktor-faktor jasmani, mental, emosi, politik, ekonomi, sosial, keturunan atau agama.(Execute fairness towards every student regardless of physical,

mental, emotional, political, economical, social, ethnic or religious factors)

• Membimbing dan mengajar semua pelajar. (Guide and teach every student)

• Menunjukkan suatu cara berpakaian, pertuturan dan tingkah laku yang dapat memberikan contoh yang baik kepada pelajar.

Memupuk sikap & nilai diri pelajar yg boleh membimbingmereka menjadi w/negara yg taat setia, bert/jawab & berguna,menghormati orang yg lebih tua & menghormati perbezaankebudayaan & agama.

Mengelakkan diri drp membuat sebarang kenyataan atauulasan yang boleh mencemarkan nama baik seseorang guru dihadapan pelajar atau ibu bapa atau berbuat sesuatu yang bolehmenjatuhkan maruah seseorang guru.

(Take care of and show respect for personal dignity, and for thediversity found among staff members, and to resolve matters collegially)

Tidak melibatkan diri dalam kegiatan yang boleh menjejaskankecekapan sebagai seorang guru.

(Do not get involved in activities which can jeopardize teachingcareer).

The philosophy contained in the "Teacher's Oath"forms the determining basics for the teacher'sethics. It includes code of behaviour and teacherpersonality, role and responsibility, as well ascharacteristics and personal qualities of teachers.Teachers should possess creditable personality andhigh professional capability so as to fulfil theirresponsibilities thoroughly and effectively.
