3What are Indexes?Menu

PrevIndexes are an online archive of scholarly works. They allow you to search through abstracts, authors, or titles to find articles that suit your research needs. Indexes are usually subscribed to by various institutions. UOIT holds subscriptions to a large number of indexes and as students of UOIT you too have access to them.3Librarys advanced searchCan search according to keywords, author, title, subject area, or periodical title.6Finding Books

PrevIf you already know the exact article you want to find, you can perform a search by citations. To perform the search, enter the article title and the journal title. You require both for the search to return results. This search is useful when you want to look up articles that others have cited. Look through their bibliography for the title of the article and the journal that it is from and enter it into the search parameters.15Many thanks to Gavin Lobo, Research Assistant, 2009 for his assistance in the preparation of this learning object. 25Credits
