It seeds to come up with a code of conduct and disclosureobligation for those who communicate on the Internet.

The rules of etiquette are just as important in cyberspaceas they are in the real world -- and the evidence of poornetiquette can stick around to haunt you for much longer.

Course Description: An examination of critical elementsof digital citizenship, an exploration of copyright, fairuse, and intellectual property. Throughout this coursestudent will engage in discussions and assignments thatwill require to think about how to use onlinetechnologies in safe, ethical, and effective ways forthemselves.

To develop foundationalknowledge of the history, purposes of and current state of digital citizenship

To Introduce reliable, research-based information to students about digital media and their impact

To Offer a comprehensive yet balanced approach in addressing safety and security concerns, including ethics and behavior issues, as well as digital literacy skills

To provide student-centered, media-rich lesson materials that emphasize skill building, critical thinking, ethical discussion, and decision making to students of all ages

To address the whole community by providing materials to educate parents and families about digital citizenship
