EEC Forum is when WORK becomes NETWORK.
7th EEC Forum 23 – 25 September 2019 n Cologne n Radisson Blu Hotel
Welcome to the EEC Forum 2019 in Cologne.
Dear Guests of the EEC Forum 2019,
Industry 4.0 is a reality. The visions, ideas and con-
cepts it has initiated on a global context are becom-
ing more specific and finding their way into practice.
Prime examples are the digital twin and cloud
technologies. Automated mechanical production in
control cabinet manufacturing is based on digital
twins - an integrated digital database is the central
basis for this. Digital twins can now be configured
and generated and find a home in powerful cloud
environments, as do hosted services and software
systems.
In short, automated engineering has arrived in the
digital transformation. Seamless integration is now
feasible both horizontally and vertically. These and
other interesting topics and issues will be the focus
of the EEC Forum 2019.
You can look forward to reports on practices from
renowned international companies:
n One year ago, the requirements for an interface
between SAP LO-VC and EPLAN Engineering Con-
figuration (EEC) were being gathered. At this year‘s
EEC Forum, Danfoss will be presenting how sche-
matics, models from EPLAN Pro Panel and Word
documents can be generated from a configuration
in SAP.
n Geiss AG is doing something similar yet different:
schematics and 3D control cabinet assemblies are generated
on the basis of a sales configuration.
n Hosting is a new and hot topic. Together with Lenze, we
show what a hosting solution for generating data for the EPLAN
Data Portal can look like.
n A special feature of this year’s EEC: the digital twin is a topic
for all speakers. EPLAN Pro Panel has become an integral part
of electrical engineering and control cabinet production. FEAG
is setting its focus here.
n After many years of automated engineering, Rockwell gives
another insight into its experience with EEC. The “EPLAN Work-
station” is now automating several business activities in the USA
and Europe.
Two and a half days of information and networking await us! A
new digital networking service is available to you via our themat-
ically structured LinkedIn “EEC Forum” groups. These can be
used to discuss and exchange ideas with like-minded people
before and during the conference.
The sharing of experiences and expectations remains a need
and from 2019 is being digitally supported!
We look forward to you and having many inspiring discussions!

The Rittal Innovation Center in Haiger enables you to experience its innovations close-up. Over an area of 1,200 m2, you get a
fascinating look into the integrated value chain that control cabinet and switchgear manufacturing can offer. Experience the latest
developments from Rittal and EPLAN: from engineering through to finished products.
Another highlight also awaiting you in Haiger is the brand new Rittal production facility. This is where production takes place of the
AX/KX series of compact control cabinets which meet all the requirements of digitalisation. Look forward to a fascinating guided tour
through a highly automated factory: the factory of the future for control cabinet manufacturing.

Work sessions offer an organised framework for exchanging experiences on particular topics. As the case may be each work
session starts with one short presentation held by EPLAN experts together with key customers with specific knowledge and
experience regarding a particular topic. In order to develop transferable “Best Practice” concepts, these work sessions are open
for proactive discussions and for participants to contribute their experiences. The results of each work session will be summarised
and recorded by the host for all participants.

Integrated configuration processes
Many companies are using configuration systems in sales and order processing. EEC bridges the gap between the configu-rators and the creation of manufacturing documentation for production. By using existing configurations, up to 100 % of such documentation can be generated using EEC.The Job Server connects EEC with upstream systems, coordi-nates parallel generation processes, and transfers import and export data.
