SEIZE the Moment!(For details see page #2)

Page 2: EETING ARTICIPANTS ELL LL PECIAL

Wow! I can‟t believe half the year is already gone! It seems like we just flipped the calendar to 2009! Even though we are more than half way through 2009, a brand new year with IAAP is beginning! I am very excited and I can‟t wait to see all the wonderful things our new year will bring.

I have to “seize the moment” to thank our 2008 – 2009 officers and committee chairs. They worked really hard to give us a great year! Special thanks to past president Judy Cox, for her outstanding leadership and guidance. I will continue to test her knowledge and skills in the upcoming year as I continue to learn all I can in this new

role.

Our New Officers & Committee Chairs Retreat was held on June 20th at Troutman‟s BBQ in Concord. I would like to thank everyone for coming to help plan our new year. The following is a list of our committees and those who have agreed to chair these committees: Budget – Chair Kathy Salzman; Community Involvement – Chair Judy Cox; Education – Chair Wynn Alexander CPS; Membership – Chair Heather Buckelew; Publicity/Newsletter – Chair Becky Lewis; Rules & Bylaws – Chair Sandy Morris; Special Events – Chair Stephanie Ramm; and Ways & Means –

Chair Diane Barnette. I encourage each of you to “seize the moment” and commit to where you will serve our Cabarrus chapter.

Our annual “Swap Meet” was held on July 9th at S&D Coffee. We had a wonderful time! There were 6 guests present, and 3 of them have already joined! Thanks to Stephanie and her Special Events committee for all of the fun and food that was provided!

In closing, I want to thank you all again for giving me the honor of serving as your 2009-2010 president. I know we can all work together, seizing every moment to make our chapter successful!

hitchhikers there are in many organizations and clubs.

Many members seem to say, "you go to the meetings, serve on the Board, serve on committees, do the paperwork, study the issues, take care of things that need doing, and I'll just go along for the ride!

With his thumb, a hitchhiker says, "You furnish the gas, car, attend to the repairs and upkeep, supply the insurance, and I'll ride with you.

But if you have an accident, I'll sue you for damages!"

It sounds pretty one-sided, but one wonders how many

Every day, decide what you need and want to get done in regard to work, home, and family. For everything else, ask yourself:

“What‟s the worse thing that would happen if I didn‟t do this?” If you can live with the answer, give yourself permission to drop it from your “to-do” list.
