Definition:

It is an event that describes how someone’s beliefs about somebody else influences on their performance. Consequently, there is a direct relationship between expectations about an individual and the outcome that is obtained from them.

How to use the Pygmalion effect in the classroom:

Motivate students to set innovative goals.

Congratulate creative efforts, even if it wasn’t what you expected.

Promote team work among students

Be a creative role model

always use constructive feedback

Conclusion

Yesenia: To have satisfactory results in the classroom the teacher should follow the steps mentioned in the slides before. If the teacher sets high expectations and has a positive view on the students, it’ll be more likely for them to succeed.

Melissa: Also, find creative ways to teach, the students will perceive the hard work the teacher is putting into the class and they’ll be motivated to learn.
