Decentralised networking of machine diagnosis forhazardous areasefector octavis detects unbalance, damage to rollingelement bearings, alignment errors and faulty meshingin good time. This allows optimisation of the uptime ofplant sections such as gears, electric motors, ventilatorsand spindles and increasing the efficiency in production. The compact diagnostic system analyses the vibrationsignals according to the methods of frequency analysis.A micromechanical accelerometer acts as the sensingelement. The data is recorded and analysed in a decen-tralised way and evaluated by the system. The explosion-protected version has a cable to transmitcommunication and alarm.
