secondsinA-weightedamplitudemeasurements(dB).
SongComponents:Foreachbirdsampled(26WCSP,38HOFI),the
clearestsongwasanalyzedinRavenPro1.3usingHanntransformation
at1500samples.Wemeasured:

noisyandquietlocations.

frequencywassigni^icantlyhigherin
urbanthaninruralsongs(ANOVA,F1,17=
11.21;P=0.004).
Amongquietlocations,bandwidthwas
signi^icantlylargerinurbanthaninrural
songs(ANOVA,F1,17=8.97;p=0.008).
Amongnoisylocations,therewasno
signi^icantdifferencebetweenurbanand
ruralsongsinanyoftheparameters,
althoughminimumfrequencywasslightly
higherinurbansongs(ANOVA,F1,17=
11.21;p=0.06). Habitateffectsthusseemtooverride
noiseleveleffectsinHouseFinchsong.
