ABSTRACT
A good abstract explains in one line why the paper is important. It then goes on to give
a summary of your major results, preferably couched in numbers with error limits. The
final sentences explain the major implications of your work. A good abstract is concise,
readable, and quantitative. The length is preferred to be within 1-2 paragraphs of
approximately 400 words. Abstracts generally do not have citations. Information in title
should not be repeated.

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION1.1 Introduction
Give a general introduction of your work. The whole thesis should be written in times
new roman, justified text, 1.5 line spacing, and a font size of 12 pt without bold.
1.2 First level heading
1.2.1 Second level heading
1.2.1.1 Third level heading
2.1 Guidelines for figures and tables
Every figure/table should have a caption and the figure/table must be mentioned in the
text as example here. “The components of a typical DSC are shown schematically in
Fig. 1.1.”
Fig. 1.1 Schematic of a simple DSC structure
In addition, you should remember the following things, a) the text inside the figure
should be clear and readable, b) The figure/table should be center justified, c) If you
copy the figure/table from anywhere, you must need to cite it at the caption, d) The
table caption should be placed at the top of the table.
FORMAT OF CITATIONS
1
Example of citing a reference
Burning of the fossil fuels causes a huge quantity of CO2 which is known as greenhouse
gas, is responsible for of global warming [1].
Example of citing two references
The generation of electricity at dye-sensitized oxide electrodes in electrochemical cells
was discovered in the late 1960’s [7], [8].
Example of citing more than two references
However, the overall power conversion efficiency could not exceed over 2% due to the
poor charge-collection efficiency from the dye-molecules [9]-[12].
or
The band gap, composition, morphology, and thickness of the metal oxide layer
influence the charge collection, transportf, and light harvesting properties [10], [12]-
[15].
REFERENCES
2
Do not include chapter number for the references, rather just write “REFERENCES”. Font size of
heading will be 14 pt. However, the font size of the text for references will be 10 pt.
