Hexalobular /TORX®

Torx (English Torque) is the brand name for a screw-drive profile in multi-circular shape. It is handled as a further development of the crossed slot andhexagon socket drive.

■ Efficient assemblyThe mounting forces are not by edges but trans -mitted by driving surfaces. The size of the drivingsurfaces ensures the optimum power transmission.Very high torques can be also transmitted withoutdamaging the head. The corrosion protection ismaintained.

■ Reducing tooling costsThe wave profile facilitates the touchdown of thetool.The driving forces are perpendicular. There areno reverse thrust forces (Cam out-effect). The life ofthe assembly tools increases thereby significantly.

■ Small footprintThe screw head is compared to other actuatorssmaller and requires less material.Despite of small footprint can be transferred a highertorque.

■ Large standardization potentialOne drive system can be used for many differentscrews. This reduces the expenses for tools, stockand logistics costs. Screws with low or flat headscan be mounted easily.

■ Global applicabilityHexalobular / Torx® drive systems are now used bydefault in the automotive industry, machinery,electronics and many other industries worldwide.In standard toolboxes are Hexalobular / Torx® bitscommercially available.
