R-GMA LCG Bug-fix Release
• Registry replication Each instance is master of its own data Checksums to support “self healing” Can adjust the frequency of updates Need to discover the optimum number of instances Provides:
• Removal of single point of failure• Better performance
• Simpler API – matching the next (WS) release Provides smooth transition between old API and WS
• A lot of work has gone into avoiding problems caused by poorly configured networks, firewalls, MySQL corruptions etc – i.e. coping with life on the Grid
• Some predefined indices for performance• Expect release to be rolled out around end of February

Deployment in LCG
• 105 sites on LCG
• R-GMA working sites at 40 sites
• 26 sites failing GOC R-GMA tests Configuration script not run Firewalls blocked
• All working UK sites are passing the GOC R-GMA tests

R-GMA for GLite Release 1
• Very similar to LCG release
• Based on old API with wrappers
• Authentication

Service Discovery
• API using R-GMA
• Prototype available with GLite Release 1 Java and C
• In development May provide a service rather than just API (wrapper)
• API being discussed with PPDG Hope to agree on common API

• File (as well as memory and RDBMS) based Producers
• Native python interface Portable i.e. no swig dependency
• Fine grained authorization Will use parameterised views to control:
• Who can publish• Who can read• Who can create table• Who can drop table• etc.
