Sudan Oil Refinery Meetings Chairman & CEO Dr. Jamal accompanied by Mr. Vethie, Mr. Osman, Mr. Hussain, Dr.

Samir and Mr. Garg met with the African Development Bank in Sudan. They did detailed

presentation about Port Sudan Refinery Project which was received very well and all their

questions were answered.

The success of that meeting resulted in the bank approving to issue the Letter Of Intent.

The party had also met with contractor BAJAWIA, who presented their facilities and ex-

pressed their interest in providing any maintenance requirements as they are located

very close to refinery and can take care of such activities. Chairman agreed to give the

tender document subject to signing of NDA.

There were also meetings with Minister of Petroleum & Gas, H.E.Dr.Abdl Rahman Osman who sug-

gested that RPP should begin all three phases together increasing capacity to 100,000 BPD. He point-

ed out that the existing Memorandum Of Understanding will be extended till year end to accommo-

date the extra time needed. A Joint Venture Agreement also will be signed after additional infor-

mation such as layout of the refinery, implementation of the three phases, and estimated cost are

submitted.

Shipping oil by rail has earned a spotty reputation in recent years after a series of train derailments across

North America resulted in high-profile explosions and environmentally damaging spills. Canadian National

Railway Co. is hoping something the size of a bar of soap can help clean up some of those problems.

Canada’s largest railway filed a patent for a new technology on Friday that turns bitumen – the heavy

crude produced at the oil sands – into a mostly solid dry good, by mixing and wrapping it with polymer. In

the event of an accident, the packets would not explode, leak, or sink in water, the railway believes.

The invention still has to go through more testing, but the concept could emerge as a niche alternative to

current methods of shipping bitumen, which require diluent, a petroleum additive that allows the thick

sludge to be pumped into pipelines or rail cars, but also increases the flammability of the product.

“It’s still early days, so there’s a lot of work still to do. First and foremost, we want to perfect the pellet in

terms of its shape, its size and the exact composi-

tion of polymer that we use in it,” said Janet Drys-

dale, vice-president of corporate development at

CN. The pellets, currently in round form, will even-

tually be produced as flat squares or rectangles, so

that they are stackable as a dry good.

“We want to do the studies that will prove that it

will float in fresh water, salt water, how it behaves

in cold and in heat. All of that will be validated

with additional lab work.”

The polymer-infused crude, which resembles thick jelly if the soap-sized tablets are cut open, is designed

to be much less flammable. “It’s pretty thick stuff,” said Ross Chow, vice-president of InnoTech Alberta, a

provincially funded organization that worked with CN on the patent.

Success of the invention will depend on whether oil-sands producers and refiners are willing to adopt the

technology at a cost that is roughly equivalent to shipping bitumen with diluent now, CN says.

made up of an expensive diluent to

lower its viscosity and density for

transport.

and density of the bitumen and

eliminates the need for diluent

which will have a significant eco-

nomic impact on the Canadian oil

industry.

Operating costs go down, transpor-

tation costs go down and there will

be less need for reverse-pipelines

to carry diluent from the US back to

Canada.

“Accomplishing this level of up-

grading has been a company goal

for several years now,” said Eric

Burnett, President & CEO of Auter-

ra.

The new Kuwait factory

As you all may know we have been working on establishing a new

factory in the county of Kuwait, and the design for it is being drawn

out as of this month. We have secured all necessary licenses and per-

missions to build and establish this factory.

Working with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Public Works to approve all

products related to the factory, especially after the presentation of a

product presented to them by us to inform them of all the products

and its uses.

We will target Kuwait's internal construction works and projects

while focusing most of our efforts towards the exports and external

markets.

We have met with a number of senior road contractors within the

city of Kuwait who consulted and coordinated with us on the size of

the road construction and the need for its development and improve-

ment.

The Kuwait factory will be a state of the art factory that serves not

only the local market but the world at large, and can compete in the

open market as one of the top quality products available in the mar-

ket place. 3

Organizing your work space

Having to spend 8 hours at

a desk can be a mentally

challenging and physically

tiring. Each day, you start to

feel more and more ex-

hausted, as well as uncom-

fortable in that small space.

This could make you dislike

going to work and having to

spend time there. But, if

you play your cards right,

you could turn the place

around, and create a com-

fortable zone. Not only

would it be great for your

health, but also for your

productivity. Here are a few

ideas on how you could

achieve this.

Ideas to organize your work space:

Sometimes you know the answer you want your report to show, you just need to know what inputs

will produce that answer. Goal Seek does the legwork for you, telling you what figures to put in to

your formulas to produce the result you are looking for.

Here is how:

In Excel 2013,and 2016 go to “Data > Data Tools > What-If Analy-

sis > Goal Seek”. In the “Set

Cell” box, select the cell

with the formula you want

to determine. In the To

Value” box, enter the an-

swer you need. Lastly, use

“By changing cell” to pick the input value that Excel can adjust,

then click OK.

The Lighting: Ideally, a workspace should have

lots of light, you should try to maximize what-

ever lighting you have and also to add task

lighting.

Have a clutter-free desk: In order to be more

productive and keep your focus on the task at

hand, you should remove all unnecessary

items from your desk. Any clutter could inter-

rupt your train of thought, distract you, or just

look messy.

Make the space your own: When you spend

more time in your cubicle than you do in your

home, you’re going to need some inspiring,

pretty items to gaze

upon throughout your

day.
