KUSU Notes:1. One of those elected to the position of First Year Rep is a member and vocal supporter of UKIP.2. During the election to this position, the candidate at no point made voters aware through his election materials that he is a member of a racist party. This is a clear violation of student democracy.

KUSU Believes1. UKIP is a racist party that scapegoats migrants for the economic problems caused by the world financial crisis. It openly targets Eastern Europeans and other minority groups in order to whip up hatred and division.

KUSU Resolves: To recommend to the Student Union Executive that nominations to this position should be reopened and that any member of a racist party should have to include their party affiliation in their election materials; and to recommend that the current officer should be immediately removed from the Student Union executive.
