• Anubis was god of the dead• His father, Ra was supposedly the creator god• Anubis had a wife called Anput and had a daughter Kebechet,

the goddess of putting the body’s organs in to 4 canopic jars during the process of mummification while Anubis was the embalmer .

• Anubis was mostly human, with the head of a jackal, a breed of dog

• His job was to weigh a person’s heart to a feather, and if the heart weighed the same height as the feather, that person would have a good life as a Ka

• When Osiris Died, the more official, important god of the underworld, Anubis stepped down from his position in the underworld for respect towards Osiris

• Horus was a god from upper Egypt in the old Kingdom• His appearance was the head of an falcon and the body of a

human• Horus was mainly the sky god, God of the sky, war, and

protection• He is the son of Isis, the God of Magic, and Osiris the God of the

Dead• In some myths, or legends, Horus had sons of his own• His son’s jobs were to protect the internal organs of humans• Horus was born in the Middle Kingdom, after Isis got Osiris to

come back from the dead when Set, the god of fire chaos, killed him

• Isis actually married her brother, Osiris god of the dead and had a son named Horus

• Isis means queen and has a title of, “The one who is all”• Isis is the god of Magic and Life• She could turn into a star, tree, or cow• Isis to women how to make bread, grind corn, and many other

things• Her other brother, Set, became jealous of Osiris and murdered

him• Isis was an important role in developing modern religons
