Becoming Party
"The Agreement shall enter into force for the respective
State or International Organization sixty days after the
date of deposit of its instrument of ratification,
acceptance, or approval." (Art XVIII para 4)
→ Signatories: ratify the Agreement and deposit the
instrument of ratification with the Depositary at the
earliest convenience.
→ As of 1 January 2011, States and International
Organizations which have not signed the Agreement may
subsequently accede thereto, which requires the deposit
of its instrument of accession with the Depositary of the
Agreement, namely the Federal Minister for European and
International Affairs of the Republic of Austria.

Economic and Social Council resolution 2009/22,
as well as Resolutions 3/2 and 3/4 of the

United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC),
by the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council, JAI 473/
COSI 35, #10203/10, (M.A.D.R.I.D. report, May 2010),
and by the 3rd CoSP to the MESICIC of the OAS.

Financing of IACA
ARTICLE XI
1. Notwithstanding the long-term goal to make the Academy
self-sustainable, the resources of the Academy include the
following:
(a) voluntary contributions by the Parties to this Agreement;
(b) voluntary contributions from the private sector and other
donors;
(c) tuition fees, training workshop and technical assistance
fees, publication and other service revenue;
(d) income accruing from such contributions, fees, revenue and
other income including from trusts and endowments.

Master Programme In Anti-Corruption Studies (macs) An international, inter-disciplinary and inter-sectoral programme
Concept, History and First Activity:
• International, inter-disciplinary, inter-sectoral and holistic post-
graduate executive programme
• Part-time, 8 modules: 12 days each, on-site / off-site
training, real case scenarios
• Starting with the academic year 2011/2012, around 50 students
from all over the globe and all sectors will participate in a two-year
on-site/off-site Master programme. They will have the opportunity to learn about different perspectives on corruption from some of
the world’s most imminent anti-corruption academics and experts,
and scientifically engage in the (re)search for new solutions.
