Course overview:

This two day course is designed to suit new or novice volunteers or fundraisers, or specialist fundraisers who want to grasp an understanding of other ways to raise money for their non-profit organisations.

It explains how non-profits work up different compelling messages to inspire different donor audiences to support them and highlights the legal and best practice requirements of fundraising in Luxembourg and across Europe.

The course gives participants a vast amount of information on where to gather further ideas, information and support and creates a solid grounding for understanding the realities of fundraising today.

By the time you leave you will be confident in:

• Painting a picture of how you can add value to the non-profit world with fundraising

• Identifying all the types of fundraising a non-profit organisation can use • Understanding the rules of best practice in all types of fundraising • Describing trends in different types of fundraising • Spotting indicators of good and bad fundraising • Identifying which types of fundraising are best for your non-profit to use • Completing a fundraising plan for an organisation • Identifying what legislation non-profits have to be aware of • Understanding how charities generate interest and awareness and inspire

• A list of great resources to support your fundraising.

• A template fundraising plan to complete.

• New contacts with fellow volunteers and professionals working to raise funds for good causes in Luxembourg and beyond.

About Your Trainer

Kim inspires and develops volunteers and professionals who raise income for charities into great fundraisers.

Recognised as one of the leading educators in fundraising and a respected coach, trainer and speaker, Kim has spent 11 years working across the social enterprise, charity and corporate sectors.

Kim is currently a lecturer in Fundraising in the UK, a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, Trustee of the charity Sail 4 Cancer and an Associate for Open Innovation experts, 100% Open and sits on the Advisory Board for Career Volunteer.

Before becoming a trainer and coach, Kim was a founding Director of the FSI, a Foundation building the capacity of small charities by delivering free expert

fundraising and communications training. In its start up three years Kim worked with over 400 non profit organisations across the UK.

Prior to The FSI, Kim was fundraising with the UK’s largest businesses, high net worth individuals and Foundations as a Campaign Manager for one of the UK's leading children's charities, the NSPCC. In three years Kim was promoted twice to co-ordinate lead gifts and major events in the UK and Russia and raise over £16 million for the protection of children. Kim has trained, mentored and coached over 800 fundraisers from every shape, size and sector of the non-profit world.
