    MAY DAY REVEL in

    SHERWOOD FOREST

    UNDER THE GREENWOOD TREE

The Wood-Sprites of SherWIOod Forest find a Throne and May-Poles under the Greenwood Tree, and wonder why these things are there. They dance around trying to see all there is to see, when in the dist.ance they see people coming. As the procession draws nearer the WoodSprites disappear, and hide behind the trees, and these are the things they see and hear,-

Crowning of a Queen Spring Song May Pole Dances Robinhood, and his merry men Pied Piper piping away The Children hear and follow Greeting the Spirits of the Forest to the Queen Shepherdess, treading a measure Milk Maids dancing with Friar Tuck A Wood Gypsy asking Alms All the Gypsies of Sherwood Forest

Then every one joins in singing to end the final merry-making of

May Day, and they start back to the village and Forest, the May Day

    Revel over.

After the last person has disappeared the Wood-Sprites come out

from their hiding places, peek around at everything once more, and

bless Sherwood Forest for another year.
