“Success Comes To Those Who Try.” Aptly living upto this phrase, Eirene Intra

MUN 2014, a two day event, was organised for the first time in ITL. Organised under

able leadership of the Principal, Mrs. Sudha Acharya and HOD Social Science,

Mrs. Ruchi Mathur the event was a huge success and paved the path for Inter-School

MUN next year.

All thanks to the Principal, Mrs. Sudha Acharya for having this vision and putting faith

in ITLeens to organise such a grand event so that students can start getting exposure

which will go a long way in achieving greater heights in their career and succeed at

international levels. The constant pillar of strength and support for this successful

event was the HOD. , S.Sc. Dept, Mrs. Ruchi Mathur. Last but not the least very

enthusiastic students of ITL classes VIII – XI, who participated with great eagerness in

the event.

Eirene Intra MUN 2014 consisted of four committees – The Security Council,

The Human Rights Council, The Triangular Summit and United Nations Office on

Drugs and Crime headed by Snehil , Niwas Chadha , Maneet Oberoi and Akul Hallan

respectively. Students participated as council members , journalists ,rapporteurs and

delegates of different committees. The total number of students who participated as

Delegates was 164. The number by itself proves the keenness of students in their

quest for learning to behave differently apart from the usual.

The event started with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal : Mrs. Sudha

Acharya ,the Headmistress : Mrs. Anuradha Chabbra and the students. Post inaugural

ceremony debate on different topics started within each Committee. The students

representing delegates of different countries in the debate were in a different mood

altogether as if they were the real representatives - discussing the topics, ready with

their research work and laptops and others just happy with their participation as

delegates. This was not just a competition but an experience for the first time MUNers

to shine and participate in a scenario representing real world issues.

The second day was more eagerly awaited by the delegates as it was the day of

announcing the winners. The event had two honourable guests , Chief Guest : Mr.

Vikram Bahl and Special Guest : Mr. J.P Nautiyal .The honourable guest Mr. Bahl

shared some of the humrous examples of his childhood and his funny queries related

to discipline and cleanliness as a student. This was much applauded by students.

Honourable Principal also shared her thoughts on various topics discussed in the two-

day event.
