BUS SCHEDULES CHANGED!

Effective December 15, 2013, AC Transit Route 68,which came right by the front entrance, and Route391, that came into the park Tuesdays and Fridays, were eliminated because of low ridership.

Replacing these are 2-direction circular Route 22which runs every half hour to go to Chabot or South-land, or linear Route 85 to get to Union Landing whichruns hourly. The #85 still stops outside the park, but the

nearest place to catch #22 is up on Tennyson.

See page 11 for what info we were able togather. Updates from riders are welcome!

Walking of Dogs… Did I reallymention dogs ???…… we havenoticed that an increasing num-ber of dog walkers ARE NOT pick-ing up the dog feces and this isbecoming a real problem.

Also we have noticed thatsome pet owners, while walkingtheir dogs, are not monitoringtheir animals and allowing theminto other residents lawn and yardareas. This is trespassing ontosomeone else’s property.

Also, a reminder: All animalskept within Spanish Ranch #1 MHPpark MUST be registered with theoffice and a “PET AGREEMENT”signed. All dogs MUST be no morethan 18” tall at the front shoul-der at full maturity AND weigh nomore than 25 LBS at full maturity. There are dogs in the park thatare above those limitations ANDhave not been registered withthe office. These animals MUST beremoved from Spanish Ranch #1MHP.

Speaking of Trespassing on oth-er residents’ property, we have re-ceived several complaints recent-ly about individuals taking “shortcuts” through other’s property. Please remind all those in your

home that this is a NO NO. Thankyou.

We really don’t want to contin-ue to appear so negative aboutthe activity in our community, butfrankly the excessive speed in thepark is becoming a real challengeand we are fearful that eventuallysomeone is going to be hurt bad-ly. Please examine your drivingbehavior (Speed???) and thoseof your guests within the confinesof your community and make any

adjustments necessary.

It is almost spring time, the flow-ers will be blooming, the beesbuzzing and the warm days willbe here once again……. and oneother thing… lot inspections. So,as the weather permits, pleasestart getting a head start on theoutdoor maintenance of yourhome and space. Please payattention to your gutter areas. There are some that have “grass”

growing about two feet in height.Check your home and see if youhave some “grass” in the gutters. Here are some of the things we willbe looking for as we inspect:

•Weeds and shrubs

•Improper storage on yourspace and Storage sheds (sizeand quantity)

•Painting issues

•Fences that fall outside ofthose allowed by the Rules and

Regulations of Spanish Ranch•Non Op vehicles (licensed or

not) parked in drive way

If you receive  UPS deliveriesand would like your deliveriesdelivered to the “side door” ver-sus the front door, please call UPS@510-633-3991 and provide in-structions there.

We just had some very coldweather during the last part of

December through January. Ev-eryone’s heating bills were high-er than normal. Some individualsopted to use electric space heat-ers to keep their homes warm, but generally speaking, electric

space heaters are not the mostefficient way to heat your home.

Guillermo’s Corner

Maintenance of Vehicles onSpanish Ranch property is prohib-ited by the Rules and Regulationsof Spanish Ranch #1 MHP, thismeans NO MAINTENANCE of anykind of any vehicles on the prop-erty.

Guillermo would like to remindall Spanish Ranch residents that it

is a Federal Offense, a State Of-fense and a County Offense todump motor oil onto the groundor into the storm sewer system.Guess what, the City of Haywarddoes not much like it either.

We have noticed an increaseof individuals that are using thecar wash areas as their own per-sonal dumping ground for theirused motor oil. Notice to residents, motor oil can be recycled for freethroughout the City of Hayward. Also, it is against the Rules andRegulations of Spanish Ranchto change your motor oil on thisproperty. If you need help locat-ing a recycling outlet, just contactthe office.

Please report taggers (graffiti)to the office.

Please continue to clean thegutters in the front of you home ofleaves and debris.

NERT  — February Creek Cleanup is a definite gounless it’s raining. Some discussion about some blackgarbage bags that showed up just inside the gateright after the county finally picked up the clear

plastic ones from our last cleanup. It’s unclear if thesewere a result of other volunteer efforts or just a dumpby some slob in the neighborhood.

Starbucks has agreed to display a notice of the

cleanup on their bulletin board. It was pointed outone time that there are a lot of Starbucks cups, aswell as other sandwich and lunchtime type garbageending up in the creek. It was suggested that havinggarbage cans similar to those in the parks at the ends

of the public walkway might help. Dawn will ask thecity and/or county about this.
