• Founded by Christopher Thao and Robert Anderson in 1990

• First location in Midway on University Ave• It is one of the largest Hmong organization• It started with helping the Hmong refugees from

Thailand and Laos and adjust life living in the United States with education on public assistance and English language

• Draw in Hmong and American cultures with over 20 programs, main services are education, training, elderly & youth services, and employment

• Many families lack communication skills and can easily be exploited

• It is to strengthen and embrace the Hmong community and culture while achieving their goals

• Develop social, economic, and educational programs and opportunity for Hmongs as well as community engagement

• Mission completed by Improving the lives of each individual of a family, providing information of social services, and providing educational services such as language and resources that the families can pursue

• Families value integrity, trust, accountability, and excellence

LIFE program (Life Improvement for Elders) Provided services: make home visits, maintain

benefits, read letters, set appointments, arrange for transportation, and interpretation services.

Activities: daily gentle exercises, entertainment, arts & crafts, intergenerational activities, current event discussions, speakers, and shopping trips

Costs and Eligibility: have to be 60 + or have a disability either mentally or physically, be enrolled with MSHO providers or have an elderly waiver, and covered by their healthcare providers
