Concierge Comments… Is it just me, or did this year fly past? As the saying goes, “time and tide

wait for no man,” so let’s squeeze the most out of the season. Holiday

events are in full swing with the Houston Ballet’s annual feast for the eyes

and ears, The Nutcracker (through Dec.28); Alley Theatre’s A Christmas

Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas (through Dec. 24) will frighten and

delight; TUTS’ Radio City Christmas Spectacular (Dec. 5-28) will make you

wish you’d never stopped taking those dance lessons; the Houston Grand

Opera’s unique take on A Christmas Carol (Dec. 5-21) will intrigue; and the

Houston Symphony’s A Very Merry Pops (Dec. 12-14) will have you

singing carols while Handel’s Messiah (Dec. 19-21) and the “Hallelujah”

chorus will almost make you burst with glad tidings!

Step back in time to enjoy the holidays in an old-fashioned way with

Dickens on the Strand in Galveston (Dec. 5-7) and at the Heritage Society’s

52nd Annual Candlelight Tour (Dec. 13-14) in downtown Houston. There
