Dear Sir or Madame,

My name is Aaron Walker and I own Electric Nut Management & Booking and I am submitting a press kit

of one of the top artists I represent, the Charles Walker Band along with their latest CD, “Relentless.” The Charles

Walker Band has a unique fusion of funk, R&B, and blues that drives and appeals to a broad range of

audiences. The chemistry and love of music is obvious the minute the band enters the stage and the

interaction and energy they produce makes them draw audiences again and again. The band has a

publicity agent, Shirley Kennedy from SKJ Public Relations based in Atlanta, working for them to also help draw

numbers to every town they travel. The band also has a formidable internet presence to help generate new

fans.

The band and their latest CD has been reviewed as sensational in Soul Bag, Elmore, Living Blues, Elmore,

and Blues Matters! magazines. Enclosed are some of the reviewers’ comments on the review page in this kit.

The four piece band (female vocals, sax/keys, bass and drums) has won multiple awards and shared the stage

with a numerous legends (Earth, Wind & Fire, Aaron Neville, BB King, Robert Cray). Their experience,

professionalism and energized stage performance make them one of the up and coming bands that must be

checked out. After a listen to the enclosed CD you’ll agree that this band can play any audience, any venue,

going in swinging and coming out stars. They are 2012 must see act.

Please feel free to contact me at 262-339-4540 with any additional questions. Thank you for your time

and for keeping live entertainment alive.

Sincerely,

Aaron Walker

Bio

“Tight, classy kick ass…Deep grooving, high energy music…Music to season your soul with.”

-Maximum Ink

“…the Charles Walker Band, a quintet whose chops are strong, whose command of the genre is certifiable, and who generate excitement at

every turn.” -Jeff Tamarkin, All Music Guide

Grounded in blues, the band has refined their sound into what can best be described as soul, a fusion of funk, r&b and Motown. They have been compared to a wide array of musicians (Sly and the Family Stone, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, George Clinton and Parliment Funkadelics, James Brown), but their music retains deep gospel influences and positive lyrical messages.

Growing up, Walker was influenced by artists like Luther Allison, Stevie Wonder, and Prince. He has synthesized those influences in a bit of witchery, adding in his own ever-growing musical and personal maturity. Walker has played saxophone since the sixth grade, when a music teacher said, despite his protests, he had the perfect mouth for it. He continued his training on sax and keys throughout college, participating in the prestigious UW Eau Claire jazz program.

Though Porsche Cameron handles lead vocals, the titular Charles Walker holds court with piano chops that would make Duke Ellington envious and a sax prowess from which Coltrane could learn a thing or two. Walker, who was a stand-up comedian in a former incarnation, is known for his engaging entertainment, ensuring audiences that come for the music will stay for his charm. (Ian Roberts further backs the band with bass, while Terrence Pettigrew nails down drums.)

As a testament to their live magic, the group has opened for numerous national acts including Earth Wind & Fire, Aaron Neville, Robert Cray, BB King, Richard Marx, Eddie Shaw (Howlin Wolf’s Sax Player), Booker T, Cameo and Bernard Allison. The ensemble has been featured on Fox News, NBC “Live in the Morning,” nationally syndicated “Discover Wisconsin,” and was the featured artist on the Blues Revue (2010) and Soul Bag (2007) sampler CDs.

Counting Relentless, Charles has released seven albums, with Relentless being their largest evolution in sound. Walker says ofRelentless, released on Ehlona Records: "'Hope,' the first song on the album, just reminds people that no matter how hard things may seem, you have to keep holding on to whatever your hope is and believe that things will get better. Try and stay focused on the positive. I wrote this song after going through a divorce. Another song on the album is ‘In the Sun.’ I wanted to capture a Motown feel but still make it sound as if it's fresh and 2012. I wrote that song for my girlfriend because she is a lot like a flower. She seems to get stronger and glow in the sun."

The band lays down sounds that invoke steely resolve…[Walker is] adept at melding tough-

minding righteousness with non-didactic lyric flair.

-David Whiteis, Living Blues 2010 #204

“The entire album [Used and Defiant] grooves deeply and there is never a dull moment, proving

the bands tremendous genius. An album with diversity, spontaneity, and wholly gratifying, this album

appeals to a wide spectrum of listeners.”

-Marc Loison, Soul Bag Magazine (Dec. 09)

“[These] guys sounded good.”

-Robert Cray, Robert Cray Band

works with a tough band…”

-Blues Revue Magazine (Jan/Feb 2010)

“Love that groove! I have always been a sucker for funk. Beautiful vocals, very nice use of the

horn section and that bass kills…fantastic!”

Jon 0, Miccontrol.com (Mar. 2010)

“…packaged with one remarkable difference-his [Walker’s] sax. This is always to the fore, either

driving the music along or supplying a new take in the solos…it will truly make you sit up and take

notice.”

-Noggin, Blues Matters! Magazine, Issue 33

“…their musicianship and technique grow[s] right along with their reputation.”
