RECLOSER DIELECTRIC INSULATION
Oil Vs Air Vs Solid Vs SF6
Oil Dielectric
WE/VWE Closing Coil
•Recloser requires voltage from source side for closing•Closing coil connected between bushings 3 & 5•High voltage closing vs low voltage closing
Air Dielectric
Solid Dielectric
SF6 Dielectric
Selection Factors
• System Voltage
• Maximum Fault Current
• Maximum Load Current
• Minimum Fault Current
• Single Phase or Three Phase
Operation
• In single/single mode, pulling down one yellow handle trips and locks out just that unit.
• To close, push yellow handle up then hit close button in control.
• Non-reclosing will cause just a faulted phase(s) to lockout.
• HLT causes all phases to lockout if there is a fault.
Installation
• Control runs off AC which needs to be brought into the F6 control.
• Control has a 24V battery for backup.
• Ground the F6 control cabinet.
If Recloser Fails to Respond
• Check “ALARM” functionality for problem information
• Inspect for closing voltage
• Check control cable connections
• Verify yellow handle is up
