“Each year, ISA is proud to recognize and thank all of the talentedauthors and contributors who help develop, review and deliver outstand-ing ISA publications and technical resources to automation and controlprofessionals throughout the world,” says Susan Colwell, manager ofISA’s Publications Department.

Winners are recognized for their editorial contributions to a widerange of ISA publications, including ISA books; InTech, ISA’s bi-monthlymagazine for automation and control professionals; and ISA Transac-tions, ISA’s bi-monthly professional journal dedicated to the science andengineering of measurement and automation.

Keith Otto AwardThe Keith Otto Award recognizes the author or authors of the best

article in InTech magazine. The award was presented to Harmik Begi,Gregory Bischoff and Josh Gangl for their article, “Process automation-Biopharmaceutical single-to-multiproduct conversion,” which appeared in the September/October 2013 issue of InTech.

Begi serves as the Director of Information Systems at Amgen, a position he has held since 2005. Before that, he served as Senior Manager ofEngineering at Baxter BioScience and as Senior Engineer at the Coca-Cola Company.

Bischoff is the Principle Automation Engineer at Amgen. Before joining Amgen, he served as Automation Engineer at Roche Colorado Corporationand as an engineer at Emerson Process Management.

Gangl, operations IS platform lead at Amgen, possesses more than 15 years of process engineering, process automation, and manufacturinginformation systems experience.

Educational FoundationScholarship Deadline Feb 15

Applicants must be currently enrolled as full time students in agraduate or undergraduate program in instrumentation, systems, orautomation 2- or 4-year program at an educational institution in theircountry of residence with an overall GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale orequivalent. Preference for Foundation scholarship awards is given tostudents who are enrolled in a degree program in instrumentation, systems,and automation or other closely related fields. Applicants must also meetother requirements as listed on the application form.

To be eligible for the scholarship award, the ISA application must bepostmarked no later than February, 15, 2015, and ISA must receive theapplication by February 25, 2015. Scholarship reviews will begin February28. Award recipients will be notified electronically by July, and awards willbe mailed out by August. Individuals not being awarded a scholarship willbe notified in July.
