ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS for The CONNECTICUT LOTTERY’S TERMINAL & TELECOMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT Your lottery terminal and telecommunications equipment requires dedicated, high quality power in order to work correctly. If you have questions about this requirement, please contact your licensed electrician or call the Lottery’s Retailer Services offices. All costs associated with the installation and maintenance of proper electrical services to the Lottery’s equipment are the retailer’s responsibility. Three-Wire Ground Electrical Cable with Quadplex Termination (see diagram on next page): Lottery Retailers are required to provide a dedicated 3-wire circuit with 110 volts and 20 amps service that must remain powered on 24 hours a day. The circuit must be connected directly to the AC distribution panel (the fuse or breaker box). No other devices of any kind may be plugged into the immediate outlet or any other part of the circuit up to the circuit breaker. The outlet must be a quadplex (4-socket) 3-wire (Hot, Neutral, Ground) receptacle that will accommodate 3-prong grounded type plugs. It is NOT acceptable to use the metal conduit as the ground. The circuit must be labeled as “Lottery” both at the outlet and in the AC distribution panel (the fuse or breaker box). The outlet must be within 6 feet of the lottery terminal. The outlet will be used or reserved for lottery equipment only. No socket may be used for any non-lottery equipment. Extension cords and/or power strips are strictly prohibited. Complete and return this page to the Lottery’s Retailer Services offices as soon as possible. Your lottery service may be interrupted or remain inactive until we receive this completed form.
