How to access the Electronic Resources of the UFS Library

From the UFS Homepage click on

Library

On the left there is a link to the

Electronic Resources of the UFS

Library

There will be a short notice regarding copyright, read through

it and click on Accept

Click on Accept

On this page you will find access to 33 thousand Electronic Journals as well as

different databases where you can find Journal Articles on your topic of research.

Remember Journal Articles is very important as it is your primary source of research

due to the fact that your latest research is found in journals. You will also find access

to the old Exam papers, please use your Novelle Password to login to the old papers.

When you click on Databases you will see on your right the option

for ON CAMPUS AND OFF CAMPUS access. ON CAMPUS is when you

are on campus the OFF CAMPUS connection is when you use your

own modem to access the Internet.

When you use the OFF CAMPUS link please create your own

password, not longer than 7 digits’

The Electronic Journals

The Electronic Journals link will give you access to 33 thousand

Electronic Journals. Remember here you will search for a specific

Journal according to the title of the Journal.

Click on Journals

Click on Campus users OR Off-campus users

If you click on the Campus users option you might be asked for you

Novelle Password if you choose the Off-campus users link, remember

to create your own password, just follow the instructions

Type in the name of the Journal you are

looking for e.g. The Journal of Animal

Science, click on search

The result will reflect on your screen indicating the

link where you can click on to access the Electronic

Journal.

The Library paper holdings are also indicated. The

Journals is available on level 8 of the Library.

The link will open the Journal of

Animal Science, just navigate

yourself through the page and

look for a link called ARCHIVES,

this will open all the editions of

the electronic journal.

If you click on the link ARCHIVE it will give you access to all the

previous editions of the Journal

Click on the year that you are looking for and then the month

After clicking on the month the Table of Content will open where the

articles can be accessed by clicking on the Full Text (PDF) option

When you have clicked the Full Text (PDF) option, the article will

open and you can now print or save the article.

How to access old Exam Papers

Also from the Library Homepage, click on Electronic Resources

Click Accept

Click on Exam Papers

Use your Novell Username and password to access the exam papers

and search for papers by course code e.g. EKN 124
