Introduction:Necessity is the mother of invention.Basically cars were only mechanical, but in today's world the Electronics constitute a major part.Right from the ignition of the engine the dashboard or any other part.

The Over view:Automotive is one of the fastest growing sectors in India.Cars which used to be only mechanical now contains more than 1000 electronics components.To start with electronics equipments like music systems & digital clock, etc.But there are many other parts:-ECU,TCU,brakes,sensors,etc.

ECU:The emission control unit is the circuit that automates how much fuel should enter the engine.It decides the amount of fuel to be injected in the engine with help of pressure, throttle position, oxygen sensors, fuel injectors & many other componentsECU is used to increase the fuel efficiency of a car

The transmission:

TCU:The transmission control unit is used in automatic transmissionThe TCU collects information from the sensors attached to the vehicle, uses this data to do gear shifting at the right time.Multiple sensors are involved in this setup.

Brakes: Antilock break systems (ABS) are increasingly becoming popular in cars.These have two main advantages:- They let you stop faster & they let you steer while applying brakes.

The ABS keeps itself update by taking inputs from the speed sensors located at the wheel, such that it knows when the wheals are about to lock up.The values are in the break line when they open ,then pressure from cylinder is passed to the brakes, a pump is also added to fill the pressure backThe controller keeps itself updated with info. of the sensor & the valve.

The dashboard:

The dash board basically contains panels that shows the readings of the different sensors used throughout the body of car.The good-old dashboard has a steering

wheel through which the analog meters could be viewed.

The dashboard can also have GPS, audio sys., A/C controls, etc.

Parking sensors:A combination of a sensor & a display unit is used.These indicators warn the driver by beeps & visual representation of how close an object is.

Auto sensing wipers:

The Auto sensing wipers system will automatically turn on the wipers movement as they detect rainThe sensors on the basis of moisture, determine the speed of the wiper movement.

There are many other equipments such as auto sensing lights, safety & security systems, anti-theft systems, personal safety systems, accident avoidance systems, etc.
