E-Updates Spring 2013 Greetings from ELI! We can’t believe that were already halfway through the spring semester of 2013. Check out our ELI E-Updates below for resources and information as you are working toward completing your courses. We hope you are having a great semester! - -ELI Staff Brianna Gonzales joined ELI as a Student Success Coach. Her tasks include working with students who experience challenges in their online classes, providing resources and guidance to new and continuing students, and explaining Smarter Measure exam outcomes among many other duties. She holds a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Higher Ed. as well as a Bachelor’s from the University of California Riverside and an Associate’s from Victor Valley Community College. Before coming to Eli, Brianna worked as an academic advisor in San Diego, California for four and a half years. While advising students in San Diego, she was recognized for her superior performance and commitment to student satisfaction. Helping students achieve their dreams is Brianna’s passion and purpose; she is very excited to be working with students at NOVA. What is a Webinar?- A webinar is a web-based seminar. Using the computer of your choice and an

internet connection, you will be able to see the live presentation and listen in using your computer

speakers. A microphone is not required as a text chat feature will be utilized

during the webinars for participants to ask questions.

What Webinar topics does ELI offer?- All of the ELI webinars offered

are listed on the webinar page of the ELI website . Some of the webinars topics

that ELI offers include: ELI Orientation, How to Succeed in Distance Learning,

Online Library Resources, Exploring Career Options, and Academic Success.

How do I participate?- To register for a webinar, click on the title of a

webinar listed on the website, then click on the link with the date and time of interest and follow the

instructions provided. After registering, you should receive a confirmation e-mail 24 to 48 hours prior

to the webinar of interest that will include instructions for accessing the webinar.
