Strong verbal and written communication skills established through many essays and presentations. Effective problem solving skills developed through numerous programming projects. Proficiency in all areas of Microsoft office, arcGIS, SPSS and programming languages; Java and SQL. Dissertation research titled ‘Associations between North Atlantic Sea Surface Temperatures and Scottish Rainfall and Applications in Medium Range Statistical Forecast Models;’ Used 60 years of data to attempt to forecast monthly rainfall a season in advance. Lead a team of three instructors to teach groups of up to 24 individuals. I learnt to integrate fully into an established team. My 2015 end of season review identified me as a highly motivated, enthusiastic and respected team player providing energy and focus particularly engaging and approachable in teaching large, often inexperienced groups effectively. I learnt how to be versatile and quickly adapt teaching methods for different demographics. MY INTERESTSAs an enthusiastic team player in all areas of my life I enjoy many team sports. I am, an experienced sailor racing in teams and an RYA qualified dinghy instructor teaching in the UK and abroad. I play hockey regularly, captaining the Burgess Hill School 1st XI in my final year and the Geography Society Hockey Team at university, and now continuing to play every weekend for East Grinstead Hockey Club. I relish a challenge and in 2014 completed the Three Peaks Challenge in less than 22 hours as part of the University of Birmingham Geography Team.
