An Insight to Hope’s life and how she got in to the music industry.

Hope murphy the sud-den breakthrough of this up-

coming artist has shocked the whole globe. From the release of her single ‘If only you knew’ she has already created a massive fan base, eager to hear more of Hope’s music all in awe of who this mesmerizing artist really is. Hope grew up in her hometown Bournemouth, where she dis-covered from a young age that she wanted to become a singer. Hope grew up in a large family with several brothers and sisters but her parents told Vibe how she always stood out because she had a voice like an angel. After partaking in numerous singing competitions and performing at countless gigs, she was finally noticed for both her gorgeous looks and voice! I went to Hope’s hometown to find out more about her childhood and how she became to love music and sing-ing, I was in awe when she told me she hasn’t had a single sing-ing lesson, from a young age her entire family and friends knew how much of an amazing singer she was but the Hope struggled to believe the same. She had her own Youtube channel where she enjoyed uploading covers of her favourite songs but also of songs

she had written herself with her own guitar and a plug in mi-crophone, the Youtube channel had a few hundred subscribers but grew after participating in X factor 2011 at the age of 16. Hope’s confidence was knocked as she was sent home from the semi final as judge Simon Cow-ell insisted Hope wasn’t ready to face the music industry at such a young age and needed time to find herself. This rejection com-pletely destroyed her self confi-dence and for a whole year Hope gave up singing all together, she decided she would never be good enough to be a successful artist in the Industry. However forgetting that her Youtube channel was still up and running, she received an email from a massive record label called Roc-A-Fella Re-cords telling her how much they loved her image and voice and that they were interested to find out more. Hope was extreme-ly excited by this, it was exactly what she needed to regain that confidence and realise that she was good enough. A few weeks later they set up a meeting and she was flown to Los Angeles, America where Hope met face to face with the very own Jay z, who had been one of her inspirations from when she was a teenager. Jay Z took an instant liking to Hope and after numerous meet-

ings they decided to give Hope a trial and to compose a song to-gether, in which Jay z would be featuring. Jay Z was fascinated by the fact Hope wrote her own music and at the standard of the songs, he insisted that her first single would be one of her very own written songs, which is ex-tremely rare for a new artist to have. He discovered how diverse she was as not only can she sing but she could also rap, this was a massive bonus especially for the genre of RnB which she loved. Jay Z told vibe “I’m so happy we have found such a talented young artist like Hope and I can’t wait for everyone to see exactly what she has to offer.” After months of being in the studio, they finally completed a record they were all completely happy with and Hope was signed to the record label, at the age of 19. Her edgy style and angelic voice created the perfect new upcoming artist. Hope told us her love for RnB music and how she had always been fans of artists such as Rihanna, Chris Brown, Be-yonce and many more. She told us how she idolizes Rihanna and gets inspiration from her style. Hope was so excited to release her new single in December 2014 where she received an amazing response of the whole country and globe. Everyone was shocked as to where Jay Z had found such a talented young girl and all were excited to hear new music from the artist.

The next steps were for Hope to have her very own gig, where she would perform her single live for the very first time. The gig was in Los An-geles, where both Jay Z and Kanye attended backstage, supporting the new artist. Hope told us how she was extremely nervous

and I remember thinking how my

dreams had finally came true.”

As a British artist, the American public took an extreme liking to

Hope as the venue was completely filled out and some fans were turnt

away and there wasn’t space for any more people. The gig was very successful and Jay Z realised how talented Hope really was, He told vibe how amazing the atmosphere was, and how much of an amazing reception they received from the crowd after Hope had finished

performing her single and it was time for her to go off stage. The gig helped for Hope’s fan base to get bigger and for people to find

out about the breakthrough artist, all in excitement of new music

that she will be releasing and what is soon to come. The artist also kept it quiet that she was also a very talented dancer, which was

a massive bonus to her upcoming career in the Industry. After the

response of the first single release and gig, they decided to compose

a whole album. The album will be RnB music, featuring several famous artists, with both hope’s own songs and songs written by

celebrities such as Usher and Ed – Sheeran. Rumour has it Hope will be going on tour with the Weeknd,

opening every single one of his shows in America. Her family and friends are extremely proud of how

far she has come in such a short amount of time and are speechless at the reception she has received.

Hope told us how hard it was with the amount of time she has spent

away from her family now that her record label is in America; she

is expecting to be moving there soon as it would be easier for her

upcoming career. Hope announced on her twitter page how grateful for

everything that has happened to her and of all the fans she already has, She tweeted how they will be announcing more single and dates

of tours she will be featuring in soon and to keep on the lookout for

it!
