Tagger and Photon beamline Schedule

Two day review to be held between Jan 19 and 27 depending on the availability of reviewers.

Tentative list of reviewers includes Juergen Ahrens (Mainz), Bernhard Mecking (JLab), Al Nathan (U Illinois).

Hall D Tagger Review Draft Charge

The scope of this review is the Hall D coherent bremsstrahlung beamline, including the photon tagging system. You are asked to address the following questions:

Is the conceptual design of the tagger magnet and hodoscope reasonable and adequate to achieve the Hall D physics goals?

Have the design parameters of the complete photon beamline been optimized for maximum physics impact? For example, will this design achieve maximal linear polarization up to the highest envisioned rates? Are the beamline diagnostics adequate?

Are the specifications for the incident electron beam sufficiently well-defined, reasonable, and consistent with achieving the Hall D physics goals?

Please note that the Hall D detector, electronics, and data acquisition systems have been reviewed previously and these are therefore not the focus of this review. You will be supplied with the reports from these earlier reviews along with your briefing materials.

Goals for today

Feedback on technical issues on the tagger and beamline.

Identify issues need to be further clarified.

Produce a list of homework topics which need to be addressed before the tagger and photon beamline review.
