• Family was extremely poor and moved often.•Had happy childhood.•Moved to Memphis, moving into public housing in 1949

•Raised by loving, working class parents.•Mother was extensively protective.

•Attended the assembly of god church in Memphis. Where gospel music became an important influence for him.

•Got his first guitar at the age of 10.

•He won a talent show at Hume’s high school, Memphis.•Met Sam Phillips after his graduation.

• From 1956-1958 his stardom reached unbelievable heights, selling over 142 gold records worldwide.

•Unique musical style, gyrating hips, and good looks caused excitement amongst the youngsters.

•Guest appearance on a number of television shows

•Priscilla met Elvis at the age of fourteen and then they began dating.

•In August 1958, he was granted emergency leave for mother’s death!

Served Germany for nearly two years.

•He first no.1 single- He signed lot of movies with paramount pictures.

•They got married on 1st May 1967 in a private ceremony.

They had their only daughter ‘Lisa Marie’ on 1st of February 1968.
