1. Research Project: Look at role of HPV integration in head and neck tumors and cell lines at DNA, RNA and protein level. Helped troubleshoot and validated the use of the QIAGEN Qiasymphony SP for DNA isolation from oral rinse samples. 2. Supervising Role: I currently overlook operation for Dr. Gillison’s laboratory at Polaris Innovation Center as part of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES): Prevalence of Oral HPV Infections in the United States Population Study. I established the current SOPs, I help maintain the complete study database for all samples (currently n >9000 samples), and I ensure that the laboratory maintains proper IBC approval and certification during CDC/EHS inspections. I also supervise the lab technician who is working on this project and make major purchases needed for the study.
