Mexico City offers many interesting places to visit, here we leave a list by some of the most outstanding

attractions.

P laza de la Co stitució (El Zócalo) .- With an area of  195m x 240m square, the Zocalo is one of the

largest squares in the world. Surrounded by the Metropolitan Cathedral to the north, and the National

Palace, east, and a number of other historic buildings. A huge Mexican flag is the center of the square,

which is lowered ceremoniously each day at 18:00 h. A variety of events can be found here, including

concerts, demonstrations and other social gatherings more typical. On New Year's Day, practitioners of

indigenous religions of Mexico gather to bless the faithful at the gate next year, Mexico's independence is

celebrated in the square on 15 and 16 September.

Metro olita Cathedral ( orth side of the Zócalo) .- It is the largest cathedral in the Americas, has a lot of

mixtures of Baroque art forms. The Metropolitan Cathedral is a cathedral that has a lot of mixtures of

Baroque art forms. It has a neoclassical facade with five separate buildings and beautiful chapels. As during

religious ceremonies can hear the cathedral organ, by reason of the weak structure of the land in the city,

the cathedral has been sinking over the years. Throughout the year, this shrine is visited by thousands of

tourists and pilgrims. It is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Mexico.

It was designed by Claude Arcinieaga, construction began in 1573 and lasted for over 300 years. The

entrance to the cathedral is free.

N atio al P alace (east side of the Zócalo) .- The palace in its present form was begun in 1693 and served as

the Palace of the Viceroy of New Spain until the War of Independence of Mexico, when he became the
