Lets Find Some Embarrassing NichesA niche is a focused, targetable segment of a market

• Niches are NOT a group of people you select to market to

• You cannot pick or choose a niche at random

A niche can be defined as :

A need that many people have that your product or service fulfils!

Page 4: Embarrassing Markets

Has that definition changed your mindset on what a niche is?

You cannot just pick a niche at random and hope for the best…

By definition it tells us that a niche has to be:

• Found• Discovered• Uncovered

And then that niche market needs to be serviced.

So…the process of targeting a niche is about finding a want or need that many people have, then finding a product to solve it.

Picking The Right Embarrassing Niches

“Market” vs. “Marketing” – Know The Difference

Market - A large group of people looking for a solution to an issue, an example could be overweight people (there will never be a shortage in this market)

Marketing - There are all kinds of sub-markets or niches in this market, from overweight children, to women who want to lose weight after pregnancy to folks looking to strip fat

Your job is to create a USP… Perhaps specialize in selling only products for women who to lose weight after pregnancy…

Lets Find Some Embarrassing Niches

Here’s an example in the sexual health niche:

MARKET: Sexual health issues for men, sex is one of the largest markets out there, and has millions of people suffering all kinds of issues!

MARKETING: Target men who suffer from premature ejaculation, a USP could be – “Learn how to control yourself and last longer between the sheets” Your website could be dedicated to products that only help men with PE

Who you sell to and how you sell are totally different, this is why you MUST understand that markets and marketing are totally different!

The common misconception amongst “newbies” is that they think it’ll be easier for them to make sales if there is little or no competition!

You could not be further from the truth – competition is a good indicator that the market you have chosen is a buyers market

Competition is GOOD – In fact it is ESSENTIAL

Here’s why:

The market is proven – you know there are plenty of buyers & that it is profitable

There are plenty of products meaning people are spending money!!
