MAPEI + SALINI IMPREGILO and PIZZAROTTI ITALY IN NORWAY
In October, in the presence of Prime Minister Erna Solberg, a new MAPEI
plant was opened in Sagstua, Nord-Odal, in order to expand the factory. The
investment of 19 million euros aims to increase the production capacity in
order to meet the growing demand for products for cementitious and resin
flooring and for waterproofing and cement additives in the Nordic countries.

In November, Salini Impregilo and Pizzarotti entered the Norwegian market
by signing a €388-million euro contract to upgrade a 13.6-kilometre railway
line between the towns of Nykirke and Barkaker, south of Oslo. The project
concerns a section of the so-called Vestfold Line, to be modernized to reduce
travel times and increase passenger rail capacity.

The 27th of September 2019 the Embassy took part in the initiative EU Beach
Clean up, organized by the EU Delegation in Norway. The Ambassador and the
two interns participated with enthusiasm in the removal of plastic waste from
the beaches of Bygdøy in Oslo. This symbolic act shows the necessity to take
direct action against the spread of plastic and microplastics on beaches around
the world. The initiative is part of the “EU Beach Clean up” campaign, through

Bookcrossing: “take a book, bring a book” INITIATIVES
Reading expands your knowledge, broadens your mind and enriches your life. This
is why the Embassy launches the project "Take a book, bring a book", a
bookcrossing initiative for the circulation and exchange of books.
In the waiting room of the consular section you will find a corner where everyone
can freely take books from and leave books, in Italian, English, Norwegian and
other languages. The initiative aims at encouraging the practice of reading and
sharing.
Join our initiative taking a book from our small free library and leaving another one in its place. Enjoy
