Embedded Project Abstract(Automotive, Biomedical, Robotics, Biometric, Eco-Friendly)

    Automotive

    1. Car to Car Communication based on GPS and WI-FI.

This Project proposes a vehicle-to-vehicle communication protocol for cooperative collision warning. Emerging

wireless technologies for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle to-roadside (V2R) communications such as DSRC

(Dedicated Short Range Communications) are promising to dramatically reduce the number of fatal roadwayaccidents by providing early warnings. One major technical challenge addressed in this Project is to achieve low-

latency in delivering emergency warnings in various road situations. Based on a careful analysis of application

requirements, we design an effective protocol, comprising congestion control policies, service differentiationmechanisms and methods for emergency warning dissemination. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed

protocol achieves low latency in delivering emergency warnings and efficient bandwidth usage in stressful road

scenarios. The protocol comprises of following things :-

Technology that will enable cars to talk to each other, helping to reduce crashes as well as potentially fuel

    consumption.

The idea is that the wireless network and GPS chip in the cars can see the other cars connected to the

    network

If the driver cant actually see the other cars for one reason or another (theyre blocked at an intersection or

    in a blind spot).

    2. Approach lightning system/pilot controlled lightning at airport runway for energy conservation/aircraft

radio control of aerodrome lightning (arcal)

Pilot Controlled Lighting (PCL), also known as Aircraft Radio Control of Aerodrome Lighting (ARCAL) or Pilot

Activated Lighting (PAL), is a system which allows aircraft pilots to control the lighting of an airport or

airfield's approach lights, runway edge lights, and taxiways via radio. At some airfields, the aerodrome beacon mayalso be ARCAL controlled. ARCAL is most common Anton or little-used airfields where it is neither economical to

light the runways all night, nor to provide staff to turn the runway lighting on and off. It enables pilots to control the

lighting only when required, saving electricity and reducing light pollution. The ARCAL frequency for most

aerodromes is usually the same as the UNICOM/CTAF frequency, although in some rare cases, a second ARCAL

frequency may be designated to control the lighting for a second runway separately (an example of this is runway

01/19 at the airport in Sydney, NS). To activate the lights, the pilot clicks the radio transmit switch on the ARCALfrequency a certain number of times within a specified number of seconds. There are two type of ARCAL systems,

type J and type K. When either type of system is activated, a 15-minute countdown starts, after which the lights turnoff. While the lights are on, whenever a lighting command is issued, whether it changes the lighting intensity or not,

the 15-minute countdown is reset. At some airfields, the lights may flash once to warn pilots that the lights are about

to go off, before turning off two minutes later. When using ARCAL, it is strongly recommended that aircraft on final

approach to the airfield issue a fresh lighting command, even if the lights are already on (especially if the lights were

activated by another aircraft). This is so that the lighting does not turn off at a critical moment (such as when

    crossing the runway threshold).

The purpose of the project was to design and build a system that can turn of and turn on relays of light

while the Airplane approaches and leaves the runway. The lights will be turning on and off on the

movement of airplane. Hence when no airplane is there lights will be off only.

This will be based on RF (radio frequency) and through turn on the relay of lights on runway. As soon as

the light is gone it will turn off the relay of light at the runways.

    3. Design and Realization of the Accelerometer based Transportation System

An accident is a deviation from expected behavior of event that adversely affects the property, living body or

persons and the environment. Security in vehicle to vehicle communication or travelling is primary concern for

everyone. The work presented in this article documents the designing of an accident detection system. The accident

detection system design informs the police control room or any other emergency calling system about the accident.

An accelerometer sensor has been used to detect abrupt change in g-forces in the vehicle due to accident. When the

range of g- forces comes under the accident severity, then the microcontroller activates the GSM modem to send

pre-stored SMS to a predefined phone number. Also a buzzer is switched on. The product design was tested in

various conditions. The test result confirms the stability and reliability of the system

    4. Implementation OF Real Time Passenger Information System Using GPRS (RTPIS)

RTPIS provides travel information to passengers and tourists enabling them to make informed decisions about

modes, routes and departure times. The RTPIS framework can be broadly divided into two contexts:

    (1)Pre-trip context and

    (2) On-trip context.

Pre-trip context:-The former provides information like timings, fares and routes well before the commencement of

travel, through the Internet or the Short Messaging Service (SMS).

The On-trip context: - provides information like location and places of interest (POI) while on the move. This is

achieved using on-board and at-stop terminals (displays and audio announcement units).

    5. Advanced Rural Transportation Systems (ARTS)

Advanced Rural Transportation Systems (ARTS) provide information about remote road and other transportation

systems. Examples include automated road and weather conditions reporting and directional information. This type

of information is valuable to motorists travelling to remote or rural areas. This has been widely implemented in theUnited States and will be a valuable asset to countries like India, where rural areas are widely distributed.

    6. Advanced Traffic Management System/ Automatic Number Plate Reader (ANPR) cameras/ AutomaticVehicle Identification (AVI)/ Automatic Vehicle Classification (AVC)

ATMS involved a trial run of the fully automated Traffic Regulatory Management System (TRMS), Involving usage

of surveillance cameras in the city of Chennai. This project involved installing sophisticated cameras, wireless

towers and poles, under the Rs. 3-crore-State government funded project. Automatic Number Plate Reader (ANPR)

cameras were installed in 28 out of 42 vantage points in the city, while Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) cameras weredeployed in 10 out of 12 busy junctions identified. The traffic police also plan to install 40 CCTV cameras at various

junctions. This is to warn motorists who blatantly violate rules and monitor traffic on arterial roads during peak

hours. This integrates various sub-systems (such as CCTV, vehicle detection, communications, variable message

systems, etc.) into a coherent single interface that provides real time data on traffic status and predicts traffic

conditions for more efficient planning and operations. Dynamic traffic control systems, freeway operationsmanagement systems, incident response systems etc. respond in real time to changing conditions.

    7. Design and control of segway

The purpose of the project was to design and build a 1/5 th scale Segway cart. The cart was modeled after a twowheeled transportation device that uses sophisticated electronics to balance. The cart was designed to follow a line

as fast as possible while still keeping a load balanced atop. The cart was limited to several maximums; a height of 6

inches, a mass of 1-kg, wheel diameters between 0.5 and 6 inches, and removable handlebars from 7-9 inches. The

cart also had to support a cylindrical mass with specifications of, a mass up to 2-kg, and a diameter of up to 6-inch.

The cart was designed to rock on its wheels over a range of 60 degrees forwards and backwards as well as to follow

a black electrical tapeline on a light colored floor. The cart was expected to be self-contained including the power

source. With the above design constraints, the cart was then designed to be lightweight, structurally strong enough, inexpensive, and to follow the specified path. The cart was constructed of hollow aluminum tubing, which made upthe frame. The tubing was soldered together. The cart used a spinning hanging mass attached to a potentiometer to

sense the angle of tilt. By measuring the change in voltage in the potentiometer as the cart tilted, the balancing of the

cart was regulated. Photo sensors were implemented for detecting the black electrical tape and to start the cart in

    motion

AVCS are tools and concepts that enhance the drivers control of the vehicle to make travel safer and more efficient.

For example, in vehicle collision warning systems alert the driver to a possible imminent collision. In more

advanced AVCS applications, the vehicle could automatically break or steer away from a collision, based on input

from sensors on the vehicle. Both systems are autonomous to the vehicle and can provide substantial benefits by

improving safety and reducing accident induced congestion. The installation of high tech gadgets and processors invehicles allow incorporation of software applications and artificial intelligence systems that control internal

operations, ubiquitous computing, and other programs designed to be integrated into a greater transportation system

9.Advanced Public Transportation System APTS/ Intelligent Transport System/ Vehicle Positioning System

    (VPS)

One application implemented in APTS area is GPS vehicle tracking system in public transport buses (Bangalore,Chennai, Indore) to monitor vehicle routing and frequency .so that passengers do not have to wait long hours for a

bus. .The objective is to provide Global Positioning System based passenger information system to help passengers

utilize their waiting time at bus stops more efficiently as well as to reduce the uncertainty and associated

frustrations. Display boards with high quality light emitting diode in wide-view angle are provided at bus stops so

that passengers can read the information. It displays the number and destination of the approaching bus, expected

time of arrival, and messages of public interest. Even SMS Alert is provided to the Ticket reserved passengers from

Main server Applies state-of-art transportation management and information technologies to public transit systems

to enhance efficiency of operation and improve safety. It includes real-time passenger information systems, automatic vehicle location systems, bus arrival notification systems, and systems providing priority of passage to

buses at signalized intersections (transit signal priority)

10.Multipoint Wireless Data Acquisition System for Smart Vehicle /Black box system/Online DATA

Acquisition system for Smart vehicle/Vehicle data loggers.

In data acquisition mode ARM-7 microcontroller acquires and stores different parameter of car. The main block of

Wireless Data Acquisition System for Vehicles is ARM-7 micro controller which is heart of the WDASV which

provides monitoring and controlling actions. It senses signals from input blocks and processes output blocks. The

software program is stored in ARM-7 microcontroller on chip memory, according to which it provides thecontrolling actions. The on chip ADC converts these parameters into digital form and gives to the ARM-7

microcontroller. The status of door status i.e. whether the door is opened or closed is sensed by door status blockand gives the corresponding signal to microcontroller. The speed of the vehicle is sensed by the speed sensor and

this speed is measured in RPM by ARM-7 microcontroller. With the help of keyboard block the driver can enter the

password along with cabin temperature. The LCD block is provided for visual display of the message and password.

Also it continuously displays the measured parameters. The RTC provides real time clock depending on which the

various events occur. Whenever accident takes place the accident interrupt block gives interrupt to the ARM-7

microcontroller. Through serial communication block the WDASV is interfaced the PC. With this interfacing the

stored data is transferred serially to PC, for the analysis purpose.

of toll collection, a trend greatly aided by the growth of interoperable ETC technologies. Technologies used in ETC

are Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI), Automatic Vehicle Classification (AVC), Video Enforcement Systems

(VES) and Vehicle Positioning System (VPS).ETC systems are deployed in the following cities in India: Delhi,

    Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.

12.Automatic Terminal Information Service or ATIS

The ATIS information is relayed by a recorded voice and is important in an airports/Bus Terminal /Harbor

everyday operation, like when there are multiple landing strips receiving traffic because of upcoming landings and

even operational information. Here is several ATIS information that is important to the pilot/driver:

    Arrival and departure indicator

    Time of weather observation

    Visibility

    Air Temperature

    Altimeter Settings

    Wind direction and speed

Runways in use/ not it use

    Type of approaches expected

    Surface conditions

    Other essential operation information

Drivers use this information whenever they can to ensure the safety of the flight; they even listen again and again

especially when there are changes in air traffic. The objective is to inform road-users of latest traffic updates and

better management of traffic. Technologies that are employed are:-

SMS, internet and radio have been employed for updates

The update protocols in a few Indian cities are as follows(a)Internet facility @ Bangalore and Hyderabad

    13. Design and implementation of low cost automatic meter reading using GPRS technology

This paper presents the design and implementation of a secure low cost Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) systemthat calculates and transmits the total electrical energy consumption to main server using General Packet Radio

Service (GPRS) technology provided by GSM networks. The proposed AMR system consists of three main parts:

Accurate digital meter, a transmission facility and the billing server. To make affordable AMR system a low cost

    off-the-shelf materials are used.

14.Smart road and vehicle systemThis study aims to improve smarter road facilities by the introduction of new smart RFID systems that would reduceaccidents and time. Most of the recent technologies relies on image processing technique to detect specified zones

by reading the sign boards by using cameras. But in rainy and dusty conditions this may not recognize patterns, it

may not guide to specific zone. Therefore, the author proposed implementation of Smart Road And Vehicle System

using RFID technology. And today, with RFID and other technologies, they generate more data than ever before.

Smart Track can use that data to help make railroads more efficient, safer, faster, cleaner, and profitable. In a word:

smarter. The RFID cards are placed at the roads and the same reader is fixed at the bottom of the car . When car

passes the card the reader reads the card and takes necessary action that card specifies. The program for the

accidents in school, hospital and in sharp turns etc. This is also an efficient and safer technique for this generation.

    Biomedical

    1. Microcontroller based anesthesia machine.

In the hospitals when any major operation is performed, the patient must be in anesthetize condition. If the operation

lasts for a long time, say for suppose for 5 or 7 hours, complete dose of anesthesia cannot be administered in a single

stroke. It may lead to the patients death. If lower amount of anesthesia is administered, the patient may get up in

midst to avoid this, the anesthetist administers few milliliters of anesthesia per hour to the patient. If the anesthetist

fails to administer the anesthesia to the patient at the particular time interval, other Allied problems may arise. To

overcome such hazardous problems the design of an automatic operation of an anesthesia machine based on a micro-

controller is effective. In this system provided syringe infusion pump along with the microcontroller . Theanesthetist can set the level of anesthesia in terms of milliliters per hour to administer anesthesia to the patient.

After receiving the signal from the temperature sensor heart beat sensor and respiration sensor , the microcontroller

controls the signal to the desire level and fed into the stepper motor to drive the infusion pump in proper manner. The anesthesia is administered to the patient according to the stepper motor rotation.

This particular paper will be very much useful to physicians to see the current position of anesthesia of the patients.

If the level of anesthesia is decreased to lower level (set value), the alarm will be initiated to alert the physician torefill the anesthesia in the Syringe Pump to continue the process

    2. Eye ball Sensor for automatic Wheel Chair for paralyzed patients.

This intelligent chair is designed to help the paralysed person who moves on a wheel chair, instead of the

handicapped person moves the wheel chair by his hand, the chair will automatically move to a particular direction as

the patient moves his eyes towards a direction, with the help of Eye ball movement detection sensor. The chair will

also sense the obstacles in front of it and gives a beep sound.

    3. A sleep apnea keeper in a wearable device for Continuous detection and screening during daily life.

We intend to design a fully functional breathing monitor for the purpose of detecting events caused by sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea is a sleeping disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing patterns. This interruption canlast a couple seconds, or can be fatal where the patient never regains his or her breath. We are designing an

apparatus that can detect the patients breathing rate, and notify a person monitoring the patient via RF to a handheld

    monitor.

An alarm is sounded at the handheld monitor if the patients breathing pattern changes, or halts. We are usingpyroelectric sensors (infrared motion detectors) that measure the rate of change of temperature in a given area. The

use of this type of sensor allows us to monitor breathing with absolutely nothing attached to the patient. As well,

these sensors are much cheaper then typical breathing monitors available. These features allow us to aim our product

at the consumer market where it can be purchased cheaply, and is much less intrusive. Including additional ambient

temperature sensors, and a microphone to detect noise, the system can send this information to a portable monitoringdevice to allow for a fully featured patient monitoring system.

    1. Development of Low Cost Private Office Access Control System.

Security is a prime concern in our day-today life. Everyone wants to be as much secure as possible. An access

control for doors forms a vital link in a security chain. The microcontroller based digital lock for Doors is an access

control system that allows only authorized persons to access a restricted area.

An electronic lock or digital lock is a device which has an electronic control assembly attached to it. They areprovided with an access control system. This system allows the user to unlock the device with a password. The

password is entered by making use of a keypad. The user can also set his password to ensure better protection. The

major components include a Keypad, LCD and the controller PIC16F877A. This article describes the making of an

electronic code lock using the 16F877A microcontroller.

    2. Flaw less and full proof rail reservation based on RFID technology

Railways are the essential medium of traveling throughout the globe and hence the functional methods are

simplified which refers the excellent outputs. The electronic used to give the excellent assistance through the

railways is the electronic of RFID railway reservation. This is the method of moving the passengers without facingany issues. The greatest use of this method is in simplification of the ticket viewing method. The ticket checking

method includes the easy identification of the RFID label that people have.

    3. Accident Prevention Using Eye Blinking and Head MovementMost road accidents occur due to careless driving of drivers because of drowsiness. This paper provides Eye Blink

Monitoring System (EBM) that will alert the driver in drowsiness. A system for monitoring eye movements would

be useful in warning drivers when they fall asleep. The drivers eye is continuously monitored using an IR sensor.

The normal eye blink rate will have no effect on the output of the system. If Driver fell asleep, then IR sensor

receives abnormal blinking rate & an alarm will ring, to wake him/her up.

interfaced to the micro controller. Those are temperature sensor and CO sensor through which we can measure the

temperature and amount of CO released from the vehicle. These values are also displayed on LCD. Here ADC

(Analog to Digital Converter) is used to convert the analog data from the sensors to digital form. Whenever these

values exceed the threshold then intimation is given to the RTA including vehicles exact position.

    5. Persistence Of Vision on spinning motor using 8051 controller

The Propeller Clock is an electronic device which has a series of LEDs on board that rotate with the help of a motorto give an illusion of a watching a clock ( Digital or Analogue ). This requires a DC motor which rotates the PCB

connected to it with sufficient speed so as to create the illusion. The LEDs are connected to a

microprocessorPIC16C84 or 16F84 which is so programmed to switch ON and OFF the LEDs in a sequence and

with a time delay to approximately match with the rotating speed of the motor. One of the phases of the DC motor is

directly fed back to the microprocessor to identify the position of the motor at any instant

6.Advanced security systems for Accidents avoidance.

In this fast moving world, new technologies have been evolved for every second for our human life style

improvement. There have enormous advancement in automobile technologies already and still to come. Because of

these technologies, now we are enjoying the necessary comfort and safety. But there are lots of accidents happening

now-a-days. It is because of increased vehicle density, violation of rules and carelessness. India ranks 7 in the road

    accidents over the world.

We have the objective to minimize the road accidents due to above mentioned facts in real time using embedded

systems platform in low cost. In our project, we proposed few concepts to minimize the accidents due to violating

rules and carelessness. This project comprises of five sub-concepts namely.

ALCOHOL DETECTOR if the driver is sensed to be alcohol consumed then the vehicle will not starts.

MOBILE SNIFFING SYSTEM during travelling, if he uses mobile phones then he/she is allowed to use not

more than 15 seconds. Then a voice message about stop using mobiles will be given. If still he/she continues, the

vehicle will get slow and stops.

EMERGENCY SYSTEM accidents occurs if any, then the accident is recognized using vibrating sensor and

using GSM module the area where the accident took place is sent to emergency centers like 108.

    7. Employee information system based on RFID and Android using Arm7.

This project is based on ARM 7 and Android is a software stack for mobile devices that includes

an operating system, middleware and key applications. The Android SDK provides the tools and

APIs necessary to begin developing applications on the Android platform using the Java

programming language. Mobile phones have almost become an integral part of us serving

multiple needs of humans. This application makes use of the Bluetooth feature of mobile phone.

In this project, we explored the deployment of RFID-based technologies to acquire employee

information to record what exhibits they visit and when. This data has tremendous potential to

enhance personalizing information via dynamic interfaces. Different technologies, such as RFID,

Wi-Fi, and so on, are being applied to allow mobile devices interact with the environment.

    8. Design and implementation of low cost automatic Electric meter reading using gprs technology

This paper presents the design and implementation of a secure low cost Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system

that calculates and transmits the total electrical energy consumption to main server using General Packet RadioService (GPRS) technology provided by GSM networks. The proposed AMR system consists of three main parts:

Accurate digital meter, a transmission facility and the billing server. To make affordable AMR system a low cost

decision. Applications which use this technology are refrigerators, operation theaters and microwaves.

10.Touch-screen terminal application for remote data acquisition based on authorized access.

Touch-screen all-in-one-machine is the simplest, most convenient and most natural human computer interaction

method as a new kind of computer input devices. For the disadvantages of the current touch screen systems such as

the relatively simple function of the system and the lack of security features, this paper proposes a common software

interface, which makes use of B/S mode to realize the browsing of the remote data, provides the authorized access

mechanism based on Web secure access control, and achieves classification access of the remote data.

    Robotics

    1. Parmeter monitoring robot for gas leakage and nuclear radiation detection using gsm technology in

    industries.

Aim of the project is to monitor hazardous environment conditions, including toxic gases though GSM modem. This

project can be used in a industry or mines to monitor and help people to warn about toxic gas conditions. This is also

called as Remote Gas Monitoring systems. We are monitoring 3 gases under this project, first is CO CarbonMonoxide, second is LPG Gas and third is methane gas. The project consists of parameters monitoring, parameter

sending through SMS. We have used GSM modem to send sms. These values can later be seen using a mobile sms

    inbox.

    2. Color identification robot for material handling in industries

Color is the most common feature to distinguish between objects, sorting, recognizing and tracking. Generally robot

is mounted with a camera or the camera is mounted in the workspace to detect the object. The aim of this project is

to use the technology that can be used in material handling in logistics and packaging industry where the objects

moving through a conveyer belt can be separated using a colour detecting robot

    3. Inspect robot while hanging from above.

Nowadays, whatever we find in the world, be it big machines or a small tool, everything is becoming automated.

This has the advantage of not requiring direct human intervention to control or operate the devices. We can remotelycontrol some devices with the available technologies. This technology is much useful for inspect runways in the

airports and inspect the animals in zoo and capture the amazing videos and to cover the entire stadium for capturing

videos etc because it is hanging from above the earth. This robot will dramatically reduce inspection and

maintenance costs that now must be done by crews working on the ground or in aircraft, and often in remote areas.

"Normally you use helicopters and ground crews but now with technology, everything is getting smaller and

cheaper." In addition, the robot is fitted with dc motors and wireless camera with advanced image processing to

capturing videos. By using RF communication we can control the robot.

    4. Automatic Control of Bottle Filling System Using PLC with Conveyor Model

The project deals with the automation of processes such as filling of bottles in an industry. This system gives a fastand efficient operation of task reducing manual control. The controller for this system is supplied by a single phase

AC supply. The program defines the kind of task to be performed on the system corresponding to the inputs. This

control program is fed to the controller using a programming device such as PC.Sensors are used to sense thepresence of the bottles in a particular position. The signal from the sensor is as input to the controller. The controller

gives the control signal to the actuators in the conveyor to move the bottles to the appropriate positions. The time

interval is programmed in the controller to define the time the bottles to be fixed at a particular position, the time of

the bottle filing. The time intervals can be changed according to requirements. The whole process can be done in a

single cycle and can be stopped after the process is completed. Thus this system gives a faster and reliable control

system to reduce the manual control and increases the efficiency of the system.

    5. DTMF based keyless door locking system.Keyless entry has been a luxury whose availability is confined primarily to vehicles. The cell phone security system

takes this idea of keyless entry and transforms it into a convenient, versatile security system that utilizes cell phone

technology and the landline telephone network. By taking advantage of caller identification and dual-tone multi-

frequency signaling, the security system has the ability to introduce two-levels of security. The first level will bedecoding the calling partys identification information while the second level would consist of the user attempting a

password entry over the phone. The system also has the ability to provide feedback to the user regarding the state ofthe system through a special user mode. By combining the mobility of this telecommunication medium with

microcontrollers, the system achieves a secure, convenient, and automated form of security for a place of residence.

    6. Design and implementation of Touch-screen control robot by using Zigbee technology.

Design and Implementation of Touch Screen Control Robot by using Zigbee technology will beused to control the robot using the touch screen from certain range of distance using the zigbee

based wireless communication protocol. This zigbee will be used for network communication

with the other zigbees with low power consumption. By this method we can easily control the

    robots very easily

    Eco Friendly (Environmental Project)

    1. Climate control system of cold warehouses using zigbee network

In modern greenhouses, several measurement points are required to trace down the local climate parameters in

different parts of the big greenhouse to make the greenhouse automation system work properly. Cabling would

make the measurement system expensive and vulnerable. Moreover, the cabled measurement points are difficult to

relocate once they are installed. Thus, a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) consisting of small-size wireless sensor

nodes equipped with radio and one or several sensors, is an attractive and cost-efficient option to build the requiredmeasurement system.

    2. Solar energy harvesting wireless embedded system for remote sensor networks

As battery capacities are a key limiting factor of wireless sensor networks, harvesting energy from the environment

is very attractive. For outdoor applications, solar power seems to be the best suited energy source. However, the

amount of energy delivered from the sun changes significantly over the year, which makes the dimensioning of the

panel difficult. In this paper we discuss the most important impact factors and introduce a model that predicts theharvested solar power and the battery charge over the year. In addition, we present experimental results of the first

six month of our long term experiments for validating our model.

    3. Mobile Phone Controlled Alive Human Detector using Robotics.

It is difficult for a human being to enter into a debris and find out if there are any Survival. So we have

constructed a robo which has a free forward/Reverse and full 360 deg movement, to move into the debris to find out

the survival. It consists of an IR based human radiation sensor which picks up signals from human body radiationsand gives a signal o/p. Whenever any human being comes in the vicinity of the system (upto 8m) the IR system

gives an Signal. The Movement of the robot can be controlled through a mobile phone. The Robot also has a wireless RF interface

with the nearby PC to which the robo can signal the PC if it finds any alive human. The Rf Frequency range is

433.92 Mhz.Apart from this the robo is built with some Artificial intelligence for its safety. It has a built in Intruder

Sensor, Fire sensor, heat sensor. This project is divided into modules for better understanding of the circuit.

    4. RTC based automatic street light control and solar panel movement.

The purpose of the project was to design and build a system which will automatically turn-off and turn on the street

lights. Through single microcontroller only, many street lights switching can be controlled. The main feature of this

project is the use of RTC (real time clock) feature of the microcontroller. This model can also be used to control the

movement of solar panels for the proper utilization of solar energy in the rural areas and the movement will be step

wise based on real time clock (RTC) and interfacing stepper motor to the mechanical assembly. By using this

technology efficient energy management in rural and urban areas can be done. This project requires a controller with

RTC feature, SPDT relays, stepper motor and motor drivers and efficient coding to control the movement.

    5. Pipe net: a wireless sensor network for pipeline monitoring

Water utilities are faced with mounting operational and maintenance costs as a result of aging pipeline

infrastructures. Leaks and ruptures in water supply pipelines and blockages and overflow events in sewer collectors

cost millions of dollars a year, and monitoring and repairing this underground infrastructure presents a severechallenge. In this paper, we discuss how wireless sensor networks (WSNs) can increase the spatial and temporal

resolution of operational data from pipeline infrastructures and thus address the challenge of near real-time

monitoring and eventually control. We focus on the use of WSNs for monitoring large diameter bulk-water

    transmission pipelines.

We outline a system, Pipe net, we have been developing for collecting hydraulic and acoustic/vibration data at high

sampling rates as well as algorithms for analyzing this data to detect and locate leaks. Challenges include sampling

at high data rates, maintaining aggressive duty cycles, and ensuring tightly time synchronized data collection, allunder a strict power budget. Along with the results of this preliminary trial, we describe the results of extensive

laboratory experiments which are used to evaluate our analysis and data processing solutions.

This project will basically include the water float switches and water float meters an extensive study will be done on

the measurement of values. Upon reading the particular values from the sensors the microcontroller will send its

address and status to the nearest ZIGBEE module and it will be transmitted to the main system in that fashion only.It

is nothing but a network of WI-FI connections based on ZIGBEE for monitoring the damage in the water supply

    pipeline anywhere.

    6. Farmer friendly Solar based electric fence for rural agriculture.

Electric fences can be used to protect farm houses , farmlands forest bunglows, etc from animals. In a way they

simulate the job of cowboy or forest guard. Already popular in countries where man power is expensive, electricfences are slowly becoming popular in India. These control the animals by giving them a shock, short but safe

shock that techs them to stay away from fence. Those electric fences are economical and practical solutions tomaximize field production through controlled grazing. Electric fences is safe, as its output is discreet (not

continuous).there is certain time duration between two pulses that prevents prolonged shocking to animals or

peoples. In addition, the short on-Time (normally 1/5000th of second) prevents heat build-up. This fence system is

powered by 12v rechargeable battery. A solar panel is connected to the battery to charge on day time. The battery is

connected to the inverter. this inverter is used to convert the 12v DC to the 230v AC voltage. This 230 v AC voltage

is used to activate the loads. Here we are also using conventional battery charger unit to recharge battery.

    7. Model Sunflower Automatic tracking of solar panel according to the sun direction.

Solar energy systems have emerged as a viable source renewable energy over the past 2 or 3 decades, and are now

widely used for a variety of industrial and domestic applications. Such systems are based on a solar collector,

designed to collect suns energy and to convert to into either electrical power or thermal energy. In general, the

power developed in such applications depends fundamentally up on the amount of solar energy captured by thecollectors and does the problem of developing tracking schemes capable of following the trajectory of the sun

through out the course of the day on a air around basis ha received significant coverage in this project. In aden city

the implement in the performance of the solar cooker during summer was found to be as much as 40% for higherelevation angle and 70% for lower elevation angle, based on the development tracking algorithm, more over it was

shown that the amount of solar energy capture by a tilted collector could be increased by more than 40% by

adjusting the tilt angle on seasonal basis.

8.Real time environment monitoring system and status updating in pc

This offers a system for monitoring environmental parameters (e.g. temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide)

with accuracy & consistency and reliable 24/7 alerting. The system is used in locations where accurate recordingand maintenance of such parameters is required for compliance with quality standards, manufacturing efficiency, or

audits by either customers or statutory bodies. The company is seeking commercial life science partners interested in

This is an advanced sensor to measure the fluids like petroleum, diesel where the sensor

should not be in contact with the fluids. if we use a capacitive sensor or load sensor it will be tough to implement on

the existing system where the system has to be modify according to these sensor .in this project we are using a

special senor called ultrasonic sensor which works on the echo principle .it is very easy to install & safe to use for

the critical fluids , since it is a total non contact sensor Working principle of the sensor ().in this device there is a

display system which shows the continuous level measurement using advanced pic microcontroller, the output of the

ultrasonic sensor is fed to the amplifier & it is signal conditioned& processes by the microcontroller . we can also

provide a option to pass the data to the computer so thatone can visualize the level of the fluid in the container with

more graphical presention.by this one can control the valves or the micro controller will operate it automaticallyasset by the user .

    11. Automatic speed braking using rf for communication engineering:

In school areas speed breakers are provided to reduce the speed of vehicles, but this is done manually by thedrivers. This process can be automated by means ofRF communication. That is to say that each vehicle should be

equipped with a RF Receiver circuit which reduces the speed automatically on entering the RF Communicated area.

It provides pre-crash safety system for intelligent vehicles. It also generates an alarm system to alert the driver to

reduce the speed of the Vehicle. A digital code is transmitted by a RF transmitter, kept where the speed breakers are

to be installed. This code is decoded by the receiver circuit in the vehicle, and acknowledges the driver using voice

interaction circuit that the car will be slowed down automatically now and then it controls the activities of PWM tobring down the speed of the vehicle. Differing from the existing module, the proposed module is very simple,

cheaper and most suitable for Indian road scenario.
