History of Twitter

Twitter is a free social network and micro blogging service that enables it’s users to send and read other users updates. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allowing anybody to access them.

Twitter was created in 2006 by Jack Dorsay, since it’s creation twitter has gained extensive notability and popularity world wide.

How twitter ranks

Twitter is ranked third most used social network. Face book is the largest followed by My space which puts the number of unique monthly visitors at roughly 6 million and the number of monthly visits at 55 million.

How I would use twitter as a future educator.

Communication with the parents Upload podcast videos explaining

homework assignments to the students. Communication with the students on

missed homework assignments. This site could be used as a way to

prepare the children for future technology classes by making this page interactive.

Conclusion

This emerging technology is a new fun and exciting way to communicate with my future students in education. With my parents I can keep them updated on their child’s/children’s daily progress and also set up conferences and with the students I could hold video conferences to provide demonstrations on homework or class assignments. That way the children will have access to learning at all times.

How to create your twitter page

First step is to log on to www.twitter.com.

Second you will create a user name and password.

Third you design your page how you see fit.

And finally you start twitting.
