A SINGLE SUPPLIER FOR ALL YOUR APPLICATIONS

Guided wave radarMicrowave pulses guided down a probe reach the media and part of the signal is reflected back. The time difference between sending and receiving is measured, and the level and/or interface level is derived.

Non contacting radarA microwave signal launched into the tank is reflected back from the product surface. The time or frequency difference between sending and receiving the signal is measured, and the product level is derived.

DP and hydrostatic levelThe pressure measurement of the liquid's mass and the media's density is used to derive level.

UltrasonicAn ultrasonic pulse launched into the tank is reflected back from the liquid surface. The time difference between sending and receiving the pulse is measured and the liquid level derived.

Vibrating forkThe fork oscillates at its natural frequency in air. The switch electronics continuously monitor the frequency and when liquid covers the fork, causing the frequency to drop, an alarm signal is given.

Float switchWhen the liquid rises to the level of the float switch, the float rises. A glandless magnetic coupling between float and switch mechanism operates the voltage-free contacts of the switch and an alarm signal is given.

Specialized conductivityA series of electrodes mounted in a water column is connected to a boilersteam drum. By measuring the electrical resistance of each electrode, which differs in steam or water, the controller determines steam / water interface level.

Designed for highest reliability and performance and developed

from the ground up to improve profitability in your process plant,

Rosemount 5400 comprises the “Radar Echonomics” approach,

adding value to your plant by optimally utilizing the radar signals

to secure reliable measurement.

NON-CONTACTING RADAR LEVEL

Best performance

Dual Port Technology

The unique dual microwave ports for sending and receiving radar signals yield a 75% stronger signal than single port transmitters. This means the 5400 has a much larger safety margin compared with other 2-wire radars towards changing process conditions and copes better with dirt, condensation, distance attenuation, foam, small antennas, turbulence and low dielectric constants.

Circular polarization

With circular polarization of microwaves the 5400 will automatically reduce the disturbance effect close to tank walls, simplifying commissioning and maximizing reliability.

Smart surface tracking capabilitiesThe unique, sophisticated 5400 transmitter software utilizes advanced mathematical algorithms together with smart logics to correctly identify the surface.
