Emily Davenport brings nearly 20 years of legal experience to Reed Claymon, specializing in health law. Emily represents a wide variety of health care providers, counseling her clients regarding risk management issues and performing litigation defense services.
She has prevailed on the dismissal of health care liability claims in trial and appellate courts, resolving numerous claims against providers including hospitals, nursing homes, hospice providers, home health agencies, physicians, psychologists, dentists, podiatrists, nurses and nursing home administrators. Emily has also represented health care providers during civil investigations such as Medicare fraud inquiries, counseled clients on patient privacy regulations, and represented nurses and physicians before their respective regulatory boards.
Emily received her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1999, and a B.A. from the University of Texas in 1996. She has been named a “Texas Rising Star” for five years in the field of Personal Injury Defense: Medical Malpractice Law, by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics magazines.
In addition to active participation in local and state bar associations, Emily is a trustee for the Mount Olivet Cemetery Association.
