Through ICTReported by:

Objectives:
At the end of the report, students should be able to:
Enumerate the best practices and tell their merits in support to technology integration.
Create their own sample on how they can integrate and maximize the use of technology with their teaching strategy.
Integrating the INTEL Teach Program Essentials
Intel Teach program essentials help teachers integrate technology effectively into their existing curricula, focusing on their students’ problem-solving, critical-thinking, and collaboration skills.
Students are challenged to discover what computers, the world wide web and various soft wares can offer to them, how they can learn through it and how it can make learning more effective.
The Web Logs or Blogs
The weblog or simply blog is a digital diary or a personal or group account for a class in a specific course which everybody can share. It was one of the more enjoyable flat forms for teachers and students alike as it is easier to maintain than a website.
Blogs can serve as a venue for posting updates regarding researches, projects, ideas, photos and other things that needs to be shared to others. Teachers can also share their thoughts, their experiences, and other things to their students through blogs.
Educational Freeware
Educational freeware are programs distributed for free for educational purposes, not for commercial use. Today, there are lots of educational freeware available on the world wide web, but I am going to show you two freewares: the hot potatoes and the memory lifter.
Hot Potatoes
Hot Potatoes is a software device designed to allow teachers to make interactive web based exercises that can be accessed by students using any computer with internet connection. There are six modules or programs included in hot potatoes which are available:
JCloze – fill in the blanks JQuiz – text entry quiz JCross – crossword JBC – multiple choice JMix – jumbled words
Memory lifter consists of flashcards with multimedia support. It is built around the use of traditional flashcards. It is designed to enhance memory along language learning. It makes use of pictures – word clues, video clips, sounds and sentences.
Memory Lifter
Online Treasure Hunts and Web Quests
Online treasure hunts and web quests is inspired by cooperative and collaborative learning and development of HOTS. They are inquiry – based learning resources that are available on the world wide web.
Students must answer set of questions and find their answers on the internet. It is often used by teachers to keep students on – task while they were online. Also used to motivate students and promote teamwork through collaboration and group projects.
Web quests – work on open ended questions, analysis, synthesis, evaluation and application of data or info. Concrete
outputs are needed to be presented.
Telecollaborative
Learning
Telecollaborative learning – one student connects with another student or a peer at a distance.
It can be a student connecting to his or her teacher, or a student to another student, or a group of students connected on an expert regarding their topic.
It can be used to gather information about politics, educational system, weather and more.
Key Pals – Individuals “talk” electronically with other individuals across the globe.
Telementoring – coaching and guiding students on – line.
Chat – happens in a chat room, where two or more users communicate in real time, simultaneously with immediate feedback.
Telefieldtrips – students can engage in a virtual expedition
Interpersonal Exchanges to Collaborate (Harris, 1999)
E - learning
E-learning provides students easy access with information. The student can go with the lesson as slow or as fast as he/ she wants.
Materials can be delivered on a CD – ROM/DVD, local area network (LAN) or the internet
Matching with the curriculum Inclusion Learner engagement Innovative approaches Effective learning Formative assessment Summative assessment Coherence, consistency, transparency Ease of use Affordable
