We learnt about the upcoming fesval called Shavuot and children got to make their own paper cung creaon which would tradionally be displayed in the windows of people's homes. RECEPTION CLASS ASSEMBLY Thank you to all the parents/carers who came to watch the children on Tuesday. I was amazed at their confidence and full of pride at their love of learning. RECEPTION CAKE SALE Well done and thank you to the Recepon parents/carers for the cake sale on Tuesday which raised £194.10 for their class!

INDIA DAY IN 2G

2G had an exciting week, as Tuesday was 'India Day'! Children were fortunate to have a workshop in the morning where they learnt about Bollywood dancing and they got to perform a dance they learnt to Year 5! After listening to the story of Rama and Sita, children decorated their own diva lamps with lots of bright colours.

LEARNING ABOUT JUDAISM IN 2G

On Monday 2G were visited by Joseph's mum to talk to us about Jewish festivals. We learnt about the upcoming festival called Shavuot and children got to make their own paper cutting creation which would traditionally be displayed in the windows of people's homes.

GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION

On 25th May 2018, the current Data Protection Act will be replaced by the new General Data Protection Regulation

(GDPR). The GDPR is focused on looking after the privacy and rights of the individual, and it is based on the premise

that consumers and data subjects should have knowledge of what data is held about them and how it is used. We

have reviewed our Data Protection policy and please see the Parent/Child privacy Notice on the school website under

‘policies’ for more information. If you would like any further information on this please speak to Vince Rodriguez, our

School Business Manager. Please read more information on the GDPR from the PFE on the next page.

CLASS ASSEMBLY REMINDER

Nursery Class Assembly is on Tuesday 22nd May at

2.45pm in the hall.

Parents/carers to make their way to the back gate

and Mr Gerardo will open the gate at 2.40pm.

SCHOOL JOURNEY-YEAR 6 PARENTS MESSAGE

Year 6 are to come to school in their own clothes on

Monday. They will have lunch in school as normal but

if your child is packed lunch please can you make sure

it is all disposable containers on Monday please.

The coach is leaving at 1.30pm and parents/carers are

welcome to come to the school gate (at the back) at

1.15pm to say farewell to the children.

MAINTENANCE PAYMENTS

A reminder to parents to please pay their maintenance contribution which helps to pay for the upkeep of our two wonderful buildings. As a Voluntary Aided school, in contrast to other types of maintained school, only 90% of capital costs are met by the state. The suggested donation is £15 per term or £45 for the academic year for each child. RECEPTION ROYAL WEDDING CELEBRATION

There was red, white and blue everywhere in the EYFS

today as the children celebrated the Royal Wedding!!

The children had so much fun at their tea-party and had

so much fun with role play acting out what they think

will happen tomorrow!

Quiz Night

We hope to see you at tonight's Quiz Night!

You can bring a team or join one on arrival.

The event is being generously sponsored by

Dexters. Doors will open at 6:45pm for a

7:30pm start. Food and drinks will be

available for purchase (cash only please).

4W Farmers' Market

Please support the children of 4W this

Saturday between 10am-2pm as they sell

delicious homemade baked goods at the local

farmer's market held on the Thameslink

station forecourt. The proceeds will help fund

an enrichment opportunity for their class.

Drawing Contest for International Evening

We invite our Emmanuel pupils to design the

image for this year's International Evening

poster! There will be prizes for the best

entries and a selection will also be shown at

the event. Children should draw an image

inspired by what International Evening means

to them. Entries must be on white A4 paper

using only 2D materials (eg, pencils, pens,

paints; no glue please) and must be received

by Monday 21 May to be considered.

Next PFE Meeting

The next meeting will be held on Friday 15

June at 9am (location to be announced).

discretion of those participating in those groups. If you

communication within our Emmanuel School
