Emma’s Martin House Dishcloth Using cotton yarn and a 3.5mm hook. UK crochet terms. ch = chain sl st = slip stitch dc = double crochet To start chain 33 using main colour. Row 1: dc in 2 nd ch from hook and in each ch to the end (32 sts), turn. Row 2: ch1 (doesn’t count as a stitch) then dc in each dc of previous row to end (32sts), turn. Rows 3-34: as row 2. Fasten off. Border Make sure the cloth faces you with the rows running from right to left. The border is going to start in a corner and work across parallel to the rows then down the side. Across the bottom then back up the side. Start in a corner by joining with a 1ch (doesn’t count as a stitch) then 2dc, 2ch, 2dc in corner. Work 1dc in each stitch along edge until you reach the corner. 2dc 2ch 2dc in corner. This edge is a little different as you work 2dc clusters every other stitch. So pattern reads 2dc, miss stitch, 2dc, miss stitch to end. 2dc 2ch 2dc in corner Work 1dc in each stitch along edge until you reach the corner. 2dc 2ch 2dc in corner. Last edge is 2dc cluster edge again.
