The deadline for submission of abstracts has been extended to 1st December 2019.
Emotion, Communication, Interaction is a collaborative project on emotion studies which will be published jointly under the patronage of Chukyo University, Japan and the Universidad de Guanajuato, Mexico. The collaborative book is designed to carry forward the latest research on human emotions from an interdisciplinary perspective.
As we know, emotions have been studied in antiquity by philosophers of both empirical and more spiritualist affiliations. Its role in the representation of performance arts and theater has been recognized in the speculative traditions of Asia as well as the classical world of Greece. These philosophical perspectives on how emotions are triggered and appraised have created avenues of understanding the subtle and variant complexities of emotional states, and the psychology of its genesis and its appropriation in human life and society. Emotions, as they are expressed and modulated through language and rhetorical practice, are known to have influenced politics, social conventions and precepts of learning. Human behaviour itself is determined by emotional appraisal, even acknowledgedly functioning independently of cognitive triggers. The post-Darwinian idea of emotion is not ill-advised to consider all several aspects of human reflexivity, as well as emotion, in terms of evolutionary behaviour and as such the question remains central to the project of the computational sciences - its place cannot be undermined in the context of procedures adopted to analyse the neurosomatic hooks that pull and orient the individual's consciousness of the world to a seemingly incomprehensible exteriority. We urge you to consider models of emotive function that either explain or illuminate how humans make sense of their world. This book is concerned with the possibility of acquiring adequate insights into the way emotions are engendered and how they help define the umwelt of our existence. We wish to consider if emotional states also anticipate a science of well-being that is free from physical instrumentalities.
We invite articles, involving analytical or critical methods of approach to emotive conditions. There are no maximum word limits for the articles, but they could preferably have not less than 8000 words. Abstracts of 500 words are invited in plain Word format. Case studies or data analysis may be replaced with empirical scientific discourse or philosophical narrative for a wider audience. We expect to have leading scholars from Asia, India, Japan, Europe and Latin America to contribute to this book on the latest research in the understanding of the emotions.
