Assessing Emotional Intelligence

The five areas to consider when assessing one’s emotional intelligence are

self-perception, self-expression, interpersonal, decision-making, and stress management,

which all have a significant bearing on business outcomes.

Self-Perception encompasses self-regard,

self-actualization, and emotional self-awareness,

which are designed to assess the feelings oof inner strength and

confidence, persistence in pursuing goals, and

understanding how emotions impact actions.

Self-Perception

Self-Expression is an extension of self- perception that concentrates on the outward expression of inward perception.

Self-Expression

Interpersonal includes relationships, empathy, and social responsibility,

which is the ability to develop and maintain

rrelationships based on trust and compassion,

while understanding and showing concern

for others’ feelings.

Interpersonal

Decision-Making is comprised of problem- solving, reality testing, and impulse control. Collectively this demonstrates one’s ability ability to resist or delay an impulse while remaining objective and recognizing how emotions impact decision-making.

Decision- Making

Stress Management addresses how well

emotions manage and emotions manage and cope with change, while
